Terror

Beads of sweat formed and fell steadily as I locked eyes with the creature.  What felt like hours of eye contact may possibly be minutes or seconds to anyone else. I was terrified to say the least.  Hell,  I'd rather listen to Bunny's shrill voice then hear the uneven panting this thing in front of me was producing.

Gripping onto my basket ball I took another step back and watched in horror as the 'thing' made its way closer. Hearing its talons scrape against the school's tiling must have triggered something,  as I did something that I knew I'd regret.

I pegged the ball.

Using whatever strength I had left in my arms I threw the basket ball; hitting the beast fair on its snog.

If I weren't terrified out of my soul tight now I might have cheered ( key word might have ).

The creature took a staggering step back and froze; blinking steadily as if dumbfounded by my bold move.   Using this as an opportunity, I began to scoot away.

Bad move.

The movement caused whatever trance the creature was in to break almost immediately.  And instead of continuing its original tactic of toying with me it bent onto its haunches and pounced.

I swiftly moved to the side and tried my best to use the its weight against it.  Even though I don't stand I chance,  I'm not going down without a fight.

!BANG!

The creature ran into the lockers,  creating a noticeable dent in the metal ( Glad that's not my locker.. ).  And despite the impact,  it managed to stand up at an impossible speed and swipe one of its talons at me.

I closed my eyes.

This was it.

I'm done for.

!SKRT!

Instead of the sound of bone hitting bone the sound of fabric ripping filled the hallway...

Closely followed by a blast of light and the sound of metal cutting air.

Cliff hanger I guess.  I'm currently sick in bed with a cold and the erge to vomit.  Hope you enjoyed the chapter.  The next one will hopefully be longer and will be out in two weeks time.
