Today is my ultrasound!!!! i literally could not be more excited than i am right now. as soon as i woke up i called john and told him to get up and get over here. my appointment is at 9:30 and it's currently 7:45. i am so happy to find out the gender. mom, charlie and i spent all day yesterday decorating for the gender reveal that we will be having once we get home. we were gonna wait but since im so eager to know we decided to just go ahead and do it. The plan is that val will stay with my mom and help her finish a few last minute cookies and things while we're at the ultrasound and charlotte will go with us, getting the gender from the doctor. the idea is to have pink or blue confetti come out of the balloon we are going to pop.
while i ate breakfast, john came inside and showered. i was scrolling through my feed on instagram when i felt strong arms wrap tightly around me and kiss my neck behind my ear.
"hey" he breathed as i shivered feeling his hot breath on my neck.
"morning sweet boy" i said spinning on my barstool to kiss him properly
"you sleep good?
"i did not. im not even that big and its already so hard to get comfortable."
"better get used to it baby girl. you got 5 more months of this" john joked
"ugh don't remind me. char should be here by 9 so that means i have about 35 minutes to shower and get ready" i said excitedly putting my dishes in the sink and heading to my bedroom, john following me.
"what do you think the baby is?"
"i really want a girl but as long as its healthy i don't care" i smiled and kissed him.
"me too" he said sitting on the edge of my bed and me sitting on his lap.
"i really love you blake, i don't think you understand how i feel about you. ive never been so head over hills for someone before"
"i love you too baby. im glad you're here, im glad you changed your mind." i smiled
"lets go see our baby" he said slapping my butt as i walked to the bathroom to shower.
i stood in front of my mirror and pulled my shirt off. i looked at my belly that was getting bigger by the day. i hopped into the shower letting the hot water run down my body and closed my eyes relaxing for a few. i put a hand on my belly "you are so loved sweet baby"
"okay, are y'all ready?" char asked
"hell yeah!" john beamed making a small smile form on my face. i love how excited he is about our baby. he's going to be a great father.
"you got yourself a good boy in him" Riley said
"thanks, that means alot riles"
"of course baby sis. now y'all hurry up, im ready to celebrate my nephew"
"how do you know that its a boy?" i chuckled
"because, uncles always know"
"you're full of it Riley, we'll be back soon" i said
"be careful i love you" Riley said
"love you!" mom said kissing my cheek.
"how much longer? i have got to pee" john whined
"you're such a baby, we'll be there in about 7 or 8 more minutes" char laughed
"good, or your seats are about to be moist"
"don't say that word!!" char and i both said unison
"i don't know why the two of you hate that word so much" john laughed
we finally made it to the OB/GYN and got signed in. i was sooo impatient waiting to be called back.
"how long is this gonna take? i wanna see my baby" i said
"babe, we've been here all of 15 minutes be patient"
"ughhh, i can't i wanna see him or her" i said rubbing my belly
"blake?" a nurse called and i immediately jumped up and began walking towards her.
"down that hall 4th door on the right" she said
i walked inside and sat down on the table, John in the chair beside me.
"im going to take your BP, weight, height & ask you a few questions then we'll get started" she said
As we went through the few basic procedures needed, we were finally able to see the baby.
"okay, so here's the babies head, arms feet and fingers. everything looks to be developing just fine"
"wow, that's my son or daughter. i can't believe it" john said "im so excited for this journey with you blake. i love you so much"
"i love you, John" i said as he kissed the top of my hand
"you are 17 weeks and 6 days. would you like to know the gender?"
"actually, we would like for you to write the gender down on the card in the envelope we have so that we can have our gender reveal" i said
"okay no problem with that" she said writing it down and handing char the envelope back
"thank you" char smiled sweetly
"thank you, y'all have a blessed day"
"you too" john said grabbing the pictures from the doctor and walking out behind me.
once we arrived home, charlotte and mom put the confetti in the balloons while i went and changed into a pink dress and john into a blue botton up. Riley, Evan, Avalon, Valerie, and a handful of Johns friends were all here waiting on the reveal to start. once we all gathered outside, bundled in warm clothes, every one picked which gender they thought the baby would be and we got ready to pop the balloon.
"i just want you to know, whatever the gender of this baby is, i will still love it and you the very same. you are my absolute world, Blake." john whispered and kissed me
"i love you, johnny reid carson"
"okay! is everyone ready to find out a gender?!" john yelled as everyone cheered.
"1...2...3!!!" charlotte yelled as we popped the balloon and saw the colored confetti that fell out of it. i jumped into johns arms, crying tears with joy.
"it's a girl!!!"
