"You let them get away?!?" April advanced toward Mattgik, making him flinch.

"The police were there! It was the end of the fight!" Mattgik explained, bumping into a table as he was backing away from April.

"I know! You have to be faster next time, Matt!" April startled a worker, making him drop his papers. "You should've been ready for that Percy. Now get out, I'm scolding here!" April yelled louder this time. "Now, where were we? Oh yeah, you're an idiot. Okay, Matt. I'll give you a pass this time, it was your first mission and all, but you're at least getting the taze you were supposed to get back there!"

"N-no! Please!" Matt tried to run, but cornered himself against a wall. Shocks of electricity sparked between her fingers as she punched Matt in the side, electrocuting him.

"Now, fix your hair again, and start planning how we take them down!" April walked away from Matt, lying paralyzed on the floor.

Before it seemed possible, it was the Trio's first day of high school. "This place looks even bigger and more confusing than the middle school." August stared at the largest building on campus.

"There are three." Everhet pointed to the other two buildings. "If we're lucky, maybe we're in the same homeroom, let alone the same building."

"Who do you guys have?" August asked.

"Mrs. Oakley." Everhet read off his printed classes.

"Hey, me too!" Jackson nudged Everhet. Everhet did nothing back but look annoyed.

"Aw, I got Mr. Graen. Looks like I'm not with you guys this year." August looked disappointed, but seemed hopeful.

"Hey, aren't you those guys who took down that huge robot thing and that sharp-dressed man?" someone came running up to them. "You are! Hey guys! It's them! Can I get an autograph?"

"No." Everhet looked sternly into their eyes. People started crowding around them, asking questions and giving compliments left and right.

"I-I really will never get used to this kind of publicity." Jackson laughed nervously.

"Me neither. Hey everyone!" Everhet got everyone's attention, rendering them silent. "Please shut up and go to class. We're not signing autographs. Ever." Everyone was intimidated by them, except a group of seniors. High school seniors, not actual seniors.

"You think you're all super cool kids, huh? You think you're better than us?" the ring leader questioned.

"At combat, yes. It's pretty clear that you didn't do anything in that fight." Everhet answered honestly, using a lower voice than usual.

"Heh. Why don't we see who's stronger after school, eh?" the senior said. The other two snickered behind him.

"Look, you're making a huge mistake. If you think you can beat us, let's see you do it. Right here, right now." Everhet threatened.

"Heh. Okay." the leader readied a punch, but before he could execute it, he was bombarded with purple flames to the face. He fell over.

"There. Fight's over. I won. You happy now?"

"Hmph. Fine. But you only won because you used your powers." the leader and his posse left.

Once August got to his class, he looked around for people he knew. There were a lot of transfer students, new kids, kids he knew were in a grade above him who stayed back, et cetera. But it wasn't long until he heard a very familiar voice.

"August! It's been a while!" Kylah ran up and hugged him. He was too nervous to hug her back. "I was unconscious for your second fight, but I saw it on the news. You guys were awesome!"

"Eh, it was mediocre." someone said from behind Kylah.

"Ugh. That's Henry, my ex. I was such an idiot wanting a relationship in the fifth grade." Kylah slouched and put her hand on her forehead. "And you know you're lying, Henry. They were amazing!"

"Pfft. I could do better." Henry rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.

"Try." August and Kylah walked past him and went to their desks. Henry followed him.

"Look, man. Don't you dare try to make any moves. If I see you flirting, you're dead, got it?" Henry whispered too loud and Kylah heard everything he said.

"Oh, come off it!" Kylah pulled him away. "Henry, you just need to get over it! You're such a jerk! I'll never forgive you for what you did to me!"

"Come on, babe! It wasn't that hard of a push! You know you were just exaggerating!" Henry made a scene, everyone was watching them now.

"Henry, you messed up. You're acting like a psychopath, just go sit down and get over it." August pushed him towards his seat, well across the room.

Jackson and Everhet walked into their new class to see that they knew no one. They weren't quite as sociable as August, so they hadn't really met anyone besides each other. They chose seats in the back, next to each other, of course.

Classes went on like normal. This went on for a few weeks. Then a few months. They were in the swing of things when the unexpected occured.

"Kylah, you've got mail." Kylah's brother Drake dropped a package down in front of her.

"Mail? I didn't order anything." Kylah grabbed the scissors and slit the tape to open the box. There was a letter on top, and underneath were two dark blue gloves, comfortably tucked in with some bubble wrap.

The letter had a logo on it; M+V. She opened the letter to find some instructions.

How to Use AbsoZero Gloves (Beta):

Put them on.

Literally just hold dirt.

Squeeze the dirt until it becomes cold.

Voila! Now it's snow!

Dear Kylah Nuel,

If this is you, we've been developing this gadget for quite some time. We watched as your friends saved you from that fight, and we noticed your fleeting moment of courage. If you wish to turn that courage into heroism, use these gloves wisely.

These are dangerous weapons, may I add. This is not your average, everyday snow. We couldn't quite get the formula correct, so now, whenever the snow is thrown, it freezes anything it touches. We were going to release these gloves for commercial purposes, but didn't want these prototypes to go to waste. Then we saw your courage on that news broadcast and said, in unison, "That's it!"

We think these gloves can come in very handy, and you may be able to help your friends in their upcoming battle. That is, if you're up to it.
