"Were you with Mr. Abs again in fourth?" Camila asks as I run onto the field.

"No."

"Where then?" She crosses her arms.

"I uhm... come here." I pull her off to the side. She looks at me expectantly. "I was with Abby," I whisper, looking to make sure no one heard.

"You were WHAT?" she whisper-shouts.

"Shh. I saw Abby in the bathroom and we got to talking about her and Dylan and why she did what she did and then Me and... Mr. Abs." I finish.

"And?" She asks.

"And I am even more confused." I sigh.

"I'm sorry. Wanna talk about it?" She offers.

"Maybe later. Now, I just need to practice." I sigh. We get into formation. I feel kind of light headed all of the practice but I don't let it show. I'll drink a lot of water after this to fill me up. I fall a couple of times during the performance but I pick myself back up and continue on as if nothing happened.

"Girls, tomorrow night Derek is having a party and we are all invited, obvi. Who is coming?" Kayla asks as we group back together.  All of the girls seem to vibe with excitement I'm thinking hell no. Not again.

"I have an appointment tomorrow actually and dinner with my family. I think I'll sit this one out." I explain.

"Ok, Haley. Call us if you need anything." Kayla smiles sweetly. I wish I could hate her right now but she is being so kind. It's because of Shawn but still.

"Are you sure, Haley?" Camila whispers.

"Yeah. I'm not ready for a repeat of last time and tomorrow I find out if I'm actually pregnant or not. I don't want to jump back into it right away."

"I understand. Good luck tomorrow." She says.

"Thanks. I'll see you in the morning." I smile and head off to the truck, but I stop when I hear voices.

"It's not like I am going out of my way to be around her."

"She's my sister and you are nothing. Leave her the fuck alone." Is that Isaac? Are they talking about me?

"She talks to me too. It's not just me." That is definitely Shawn.

"She would never."

"Do you even know her? You definitely don't know me. She did change in front of me willingly and I enjoyed every bit of it but I wasn't the only one staring. She was looking at me too." Shawn defends. I blush.

"That's my sister you are talking about. She is good and kind to people and you may think she likes you but she is just too nice to say otherwise."

"Oh trust me, I knew when she didn't like me but I know we are at least friends now. Even if it's only for a semester, we are friends and we talk every day and I get that you don't like it but you don't own her." Shawn snaps.

"You need to stay away from her. You have one class with her. One. That's it. That's all it will ever be, Mendes. I am asking you as nicely as I can to stay away from her. She doesn't need you polluting her mind or tainting her. She doesn't want that."

"You don't know what she wants."

"And you do?" I can hear the anger in their voices.

"Not exactly but I would like to be given the chance to find out."

"Keep dreaming, Mendes. She has hated you since we were kids and you were throwing dirt at us like the barbarians you were." My brother scoffs.

"You forget that I was her first kiss." I can practically hear Shawn smirk. So he does remember that.
