Genesis

1- Beginning

(To tell this story, I will use modern "American" English of the XXI Century, but obviously that language and also some concepts didn't existed in that moment)

This took place long, long time ago, before I was trapped on the mirror, before Rose Quartz started the Rebellion, before Pink Diamond started her colony on the planet Earth. It was the year that you humans call 6800 B.C. That was the time when I decided to fly out from the Homeworld and start my search for the Great Mew, but, I need you to explain a few things about myself before telling this story.

As the beginning of my life, I felt curiosity. Curiosity of the things. Curiosity of the life. Curiosity of how my powers work. Curiosity on everything. I wanted to know the things, create new things. I love to philosophize. I love to learn. But, I am a Lapis Lazuli.

Don't take me wrong, I love being a Lapis Lazuli. But, I also wanted to do other things, to learn other things. Is tiring, for the body and the soul, to do the same things over and over.

However, in the society of the Gem Empire, every Gem is born with an unique purpose and position in the society. As for me, since I am a Lapis Lazuli, my unique duty was to terraform the planets, in my case, for my Diamond, Blue Diamond. That so, I wasn't allowed to neither investigate nor explore nor learn nor philosophize. My only duty was to terraform. And, one day, I got tired of it and searched a way to learn, to obtain information.

For my fortune, a Gem that was born to philosophize, to learn and produce knowledge, got tired of it. I knew about her and told her to exchange places with me shapeshifting into the other. She liked the idea, but she had the concern about how she will pass as a Lapis Lazuli. I told her that one Lapis Lazuli will help us to maintain our cover.

You might ask: "how did I convince that Lapis Lazuli to help us?" Well, that Lapis Lazuli is very "close" to a Jasper, who, besides being a Jasper, she hates to fight. One day, I found they fusionated. I found that (in that moment, not now) very shocking and ugly, but, since she was my friend, I told her that I won't tell anyone. So, we help each other, keeping our secrets.

You might ask: "why the Gem Empire society hates the fusion between 2 different Gems?" Well, the answer is the conception of nature of the Gem Empire. The Gems are immortal beings, we don't change, don't matter how much time pass, while your conception of nature is a nature that is changing every time (a more accurate interpretation of the nature, by the way). So, since the fusion between 2 different Gems is something new, is considered by the Gem Empire of something unnatural, an abomination, something that is a mistake and needs to be destroyed.

With explained, you can also understand why is considered a sin that any Gem do something that she wasn't born to. I knew that I was putting myself on danger when I decided to be a Gem that I wasn't, but the price of it was worthy of putting myself on danger.

As I said before, my Gem friend is a class of Gem that philosophize. These Gems philosophizes with other Gems, but also with her Diamonds. The Diamonds had their selected team of these Gems, meaning that those Gems are the wisest in all their courts.

When I started to take the form of that Gem and faked to be her, I gained access to all the books, reports, information, etc., made in the history of the Gem Empire. I was fascinated and spent a lot of years (I don't know if decades or centuries) learning and reading. With every book, with every piece of information that I gained, I become more and more intelligent and wise, starting to create and process ideas far from the mind of a normal Lapis Lazuli.

In the debates between the philosophical Gems, with the time, I started shine, becoming, with the pass of the time, in the wisest Gem of Blue Diamond's court, which is a big honor.
