-"You can do this Lapis!"- I said to myself in my mind while flying higher.

I was scared. The most minimal mistake and my wings could get frozen or evaporated and the fall will can make my Gemstone to be shattered.

I started to feel how the atmospheric pressure was decreasing and how the environment was getting cold. I focused to make the water of my wings hot to prevent them to get frozen.

-"Good, keep it up"- I said to myself in my mind while getting higher.

The temperature still dropping, until it started to get warmer. I knew that it was about time that I will need to focus in maintain cold the temperature of my wings. When I felt that the temperature was normal, I started to low the temperature of the water of my wings.

However, it wasn't enough. I started to feel how, little by little, my wings started to be evaporated. A great panic invaded me in that moment. In that moment, I have 2 choices: give up, failing again, but with the possibility of surviving. Or, keeping up, but with the possibility to lose my wings and fall into the ground to my death. I was very scared but I decided to keep up.

Making my best effort, I increased my speed as much as I could. I never thought that I could even reach that speed. I then started to see the stars. I felt that the success was, for the first time, close to me. But my wings were close to complete evaporation.

-"Come on Lapis, just little more...You can do it!"- I said to myself in my mind.

The stars were getting closer by any second, but my wings didn't have much time left. I thought that I was about to fail when, suddenly, I felt how the temperature and the gravity force were decreasing. At that instant, I knew that I was close to succeed and gave a last effort, until, eventually, I get out of Homeworld's atmosphere.

With the temperature decrease of the space, I focused to keep the water of my wings warmed. Feeling the zero gravity, a good victory sensation, took me.

-"I did it! I did it!"- I said happily in my mind.

I made victory dance. It was a good thing that nobody was to see me dance in zero gravity. After celebrating my victory, I calmed myself and proceed to search the solar system in which the Great Mew was seen a lot of times.

-"Well, according to the map, I have to follow those constellations to reach the solar system of yellow star"- I said in my mind.

Before starting, I turned and gave a last glance to the Homeworld, knowing that I won't see it for a long period of time. I also saw our beautiful white star, which, is so luminous, that you can always see it, no matter in which part of the universe you are.

So, I turned around and started my long odyssey, traveling through the galaxy, seeing the stars. I was excited and scared at the same time. My impulses of wanting to become the disciple of the Great Mew moved me to places and things that I couldn't never imagine.

As I said, the trip was very long. Since there wasn't any way to check the pass of time, I couldn't knew if hours days, weeks or months were passing, but I didn't care, since I was enjoying the travel. I had a direct view of the stars, seeing clearly than ever their beauty. I could saw many planets, big and small, some inhabited, other not and some others with potential to become great colonies of the Gem Empire.

I sometimes stopped in those planets or in their natural satellites to rest. I read that the Gems sleep when they were very tired and I was exhausted by travelling that long distances. Whenever I was, I could still see the white star, which gave to me security that I would never be lost.

When I entered in contact with some of the inhabitants of the planets (which I considered savages in that time), great part of the time they ran scared of me. Other times, they turned violent and I had to run away from them and very few of them were pacific and friendly. The pacific aliens were cute and small (some of them are now are called Lumas and others Wisps). I tried to communicate with them, but, since they even didn't had mouth, it was hard.

I also saw and touched destroyed planets. Some of them were even colonies of the Gem Empire. It made me felt sad to see that once beautiful planets and prospering colonies where in ruins. The records that I read said that those planets were destroyed by the dark energy beings and, some of them, by only one of them (the one that was referred by White Diamond). We believed that, in some part of the universe, will be their opposite, the light energy beings, but the Gem Empire didn't found them get. Also that the reasons of why they do that were a mystery, believing that they do it because of the pure pleasure of producing grief and sorrow. Seeing that planets convinced me that the Great Mew could put a stop to such destruction.

Of course I faced menaces in my way, like aggressive aliens and asteroids fields. Not to mention some space pirates.

But, I faced all of that to become Mew's student. I wanted to become her student not for being important or recognized and priced in the Homeworld, but for the love to knowledge. And also to put an end to all the destruction that were causing the dark energy beings.

So, I continued my journey to reach the solar system in which it was believed that the Great Mew was located. Until, I finally reach it. It was a nice solar system, no big and not so small. The big planets were far away from the yellow sun, while the closest planets were radically small in comparison.

I searched for the blue and green planet, founding it very fast. It was small and had only one natural satellite. But, at the same time, it was very beautiful, especially for its blue color. Blue color is my favorite, by the way.

-"Well, here I go"- I said entering to the atmosphere of the planet (the planet that you now call Earth. Of course it didn't had that name in that time).
