Chapter 24 ~ A Magical Moment

Katherine's POV

Today was finally the day of the dance. I woke up late that morning. I brushed my teeth and changed into a white tank top, a royal blue varsity jacket, a pair of grey skinny jeans and a pair of royal blue converse.

The door bell rang and I ran downstairs and opened the door. "Hey Felicity." I said, while giving her a hug. "Let's start with our nails." Felicity said. I ran upstairs and grabbed my nail polish collection. "Let's get to work." She helped me paint my nails aqua green/turquoise with a pretty design and the accent nail that was the same colour but glittery. I painted her nails light purple with some cool designs on top. We waited for our nails to dry.

We walked upstairs and started doing our hair. I curled my hair and braided 2 strands to the back. Felicity refused to do her hair until after she put her dress on because , she wanted her look to be a surprise.

We spent the next two hours figuring out how we wanted our make up to look like. When we finally finished, I went to the washroom and slipped on my dress, it was a aqua green dress (A/N: that will be either on the top for your phones or on the side for computers) I slipped on my flats and walked downstairs to wait for Feli to finish.

She finally came down after what felt like forever. "You look amazing!!" I yelled.
"Your dress is so cute!" She told me.
"I wonder how the guys look." I said.
We both thought about how they look.

Suddenly, the door bell rang, which interupted my thoughts. I opened the door to reveal Darren and Mike wearing their suits. Honestly speaking, I think he looks horrible in that tie. "Hey!" He said to me in an offended way. "Sorry, I thought I said that in my head." I said while shrugging. "Well you didn't and that hurts. You're the one wearing that colour dress." I gave him a small smile. "Well, let's get going." Felicity said to break the tense moment. "Ya, let's go." I said.

We walked outside and got into the car. We played a few games and talked about some random things and finally got to school. Darren grabbed onto my arm and pulled me into the school. "Woah, calm down, why so excited? It's not like this is your first dance." I said. "It's the first dance that we're going together." He said. "Not really, we went to the masquerade dance together." I said. The memories started flooding back. I sighed. "Well, this is the first dance that we're going to leave together." He said. "Maybe not." I mumbled. "What did you say?" He asks me. "Nothing." I said. I put on a fake smile and linked arms with him. "Let's go in." We walked into the gym together. I sat down at a table and Darren brought some food back. I gave him a smile. "Let's go dance." He said holding his hand out. I got up and the song 'Stay With Me' by Sam Smith started playing. A smile spread across his face. This is our song. 

I put my arms around his neck and he put his arms around my waist. We started dancing to the song. 

The song ended and we went to go sit back down. Darren started talking to some of these girls that started surronding him. I walked away from the table and sat with Janimel. "Hey Kat." She said. "Hey Jan." I said. "So where's Jake?" "I don't actually know. He left a while ago." She said. "Well I guess it's just you and me." 

We talked for a while and Jake finally came back. "Hey guys, I got dragged outside by some people." He sat down and then All Of Me by John Legend started playing. He got up and I thought he was going to ask Janimel to dance but he walked right to me and asked me to dance. "No thanks, I don't really feel like dancing right now." I said. "Come on, remember? Guys choice dance rules?" I rolled my eyes and got up. I looked back at Janimel and I could see she was about to cry. I mouthed the words, "I'm sorry." to her. "It's fine." She mouthed back. 

I danced to the song with him. On my left, I saw a sad, crying Janimel, and on my right, I saw an angry, pissed off Darren. What am I supposed to do now? I prayed that the song would be over soon. 

After what felt like forever, the song finally ended. "I got to go." I said to Jake. I looked around for Darren but I couldn't find him. I walked over to Mike and Felicity. "Do you guys know where Darren went?" I asked. Mike was staring at me, probably deciding if he should tell me or not. "Well?" I said.

Felicity grabbed my hand and she dragged me outside. "Where is he?" I asked. She pointed at the benches. "Thanks." I started walking over to him, but she pulled me back. "What?" I asked. "Don't do anything stupid." She said. "What do you mean by that?" I asked her. "Don't ruin it for you two." She said. Whatever. I walked over to him and sat down beside him. "Hey." I said. He looked over at me and glared at me. "What?" I asked him. He just continued staring at me. "What do you want?" I asked him. He didn't say anything. "Well? Are you going to tell me or what?" I said with attitude. "What was that in there with you and Jake?" He finally said. A sigh of relief escaped. "That was nothing to me." I said to him. "Then why were you dancing with him?" He asks. "It's the guys choice dance. The rules!" I yelled. "Really? Cause it seemed like you were into it." He said. 

I kissed him on the lips. "Did I do that to him?" I asked him. He smiled a little bit and kissed me back. 

There goes that first kiss I was saving.
