(Author's Note- I apologize for the lack of updates. I recently just went back through the story and with the last chapter, I changed it up so it would connect to this one better. "Break Down" is really short now, but "Taking Risks" is longer so yay! Anyways, if you need a refresher on events, re-read the previous chapter and it will catch you up to where things are now. It is pretty short I think. Anyways, thank you for your patience, I will try to update more now :)

The fighter ships were not anticipated.

KD, gear fully equipped, winced as the building shuddered. The separatists must have launched fighters from the hijacked cruiser. It wouldn't be long for Kamino now, not if they couldn't get air support.

"Anon!" She called from the other side of the hall.

Her brother looked back to her, "Yeah?"

"Do we have ships on Kamino?"

"Not any armed ones that I am aware of," he replied, his helmet making his voice sound slightly mechanical. Beneath her own, KD frowned.

They were trapped inside a metal base floating on the water, enemies at their front and above.

Great.

As blaster fire rang around them, heading their way, KD only looked back down the hall that led to Jaina's ship.

Through the Force, chaos screamed. Pain and fear filled any potential silence. Adrenaline ran through her blood.

Not even Jaina had foreseen the incoming ships that were blasting their way at the doors and the walls of the clone army's home.

The red-haired Jedi turned to face the doors, and waited.

It was quiet in reality where she stood, only the toll of waves crashing against metal and distant blaster fire sounded. It was a strange thing. A battle that was causing death and destruction on lives waged and yet, here she stood. Here she stood still able to see sunlight drifting through darkening clouds, to be able to witness the deep blue of the water stir, and feel the breeze gently blow by. Peace. Peace could still be found during this time of horror.

"When there is no emotion, there is peace," she breathed, closing her eyes and taking in the power that surrounded and thrived within nature itself. Peace and chaos are two halves of the same whole, which create a harmony among non-sentient life. Of that fact alone, there is power in knowing. There is a power in understanding this-- that the Force lives always. That life goes on despite the wreckage sentient beings bring upon the lands in the form of war and corruption and debate.

Jaina Vaas let out a breath, feeling balance restored within her mind. She would need it when she faced the General.

R8, the little droid, beeped in worry behind her as he faced the main platform where the brunt of the battle was taking place. Jaina followed her droid's gaze, watching as numerous squadrons of droids were released from the interior of the hijacked cruiser in an unending stream. That was the problem with the separatists' droid army— it never ceased. When one was killed, another swiftly took its place. The goal of the droid army was never to out-maneuver, outsmart,  or out-match, it was to overwhelm, overrun, and swarm. It was the distinct opposite of the clone army and the Republic itself.

As she watched the the droids hammer endlessly at Kamino's barriers, blaster shots being exchanged between the two sides, she felt something stir inside her. Her brow furrowed.
