A Helping Hand

Demi POV.

Everything started to slowly back to normal and today, February 20th is our 8 months if we don't count with.. the break up..

To celebrate, we were going out with some friends.. John Taylor, Marissa, Joe and some more were already there and we were arriving..

Everyone knew I didn't drank but that didn't meant I couldn't have fun right?

Once we arrived, I sat with Marissa and Natalie talking while some of the guys made stupid stuff

John and Nick were playing pool and Joe was with Phil talking.. Blanda was here too but she was more into the food..

The night was actually fun because we ended up dancing in the middle of the room like teenagers..

Kevin and Danielle were also there and it was cute to see how they treat each other with so much love.. even with a simple look..

I looked at Nick and he lifted his body from playing his move on the pool.. our gaze connected and he smiled pulling my smile too..

Was he my Kevin? like.. my prince charming?

He sure was a gentleman and a beautiful person but.. was he the one?

My last relationship had almost four years and it ended up kinda bad.. we have 8 months.. will we last?

Stop thinking! You're going too far!

I walked to the food zone now empty since everyone was dancing and felt someone grabbing my hips

- Oh hey!! - I smiled turning around

- Hey Demi.. can we.. go home?

He was balancing a little and his eyes weren't focusing for sure - How many cups did you drank?

- A tiny little bit..

I rolled my eyes shaking my head - Lets go..

I pulled his hand and said that we were going home

I was the one driving but while we were on the car, I started to feel the smell of smoke

- Nick did you also smoke?!

He turned his head - Y-yeah..

I opened my window and groaned - I think you shouldn't smoke

- Come on Demi.. It was a party..

- Well if you smoke than Joe should be the one bringing you home..

- Why?!

- 'Cause it's too much for me Nick! - I said stopping at a red light

He looked away and turned to me again - Okay.. I'm sorry.. I shouldn't have smoked..

- Well.. you can smoke just.. don't expect for me to be around you that much after it..

I looked back and saw the green light. I sped up and we arrived at our house quickly

I went straight to bed and after a bath, he did to..

- You know.. sober is sexy - he whispered in my ear

- I know.. you should try it next time.. maybe you'll get something more too..

He chuckled and kissed my neck but I lightly pushed away

- That smokey mouth ain't gonna have anything so you should start to fall asleep

He frowned - Aww.. come on..

- Nop.. and you should start now or someone's gonna sleep in the couch.. and it won't be me..

He sighed and laid back - Okay.. you win. Goodnight

I leaned and kissed his cheek making him smile a little - I love you Nick!

- I love you too babe.

The next week, Kevin left Alena at our house since Denise was in vacations

- Can you please take care of her just for today?

I picked the little girl - Of course!! When do you come to pick her up?

- Tomorrow.. that's why I brought some diapers and her toys

- Oh.. ok. Don't worry!

He smiled and thanked me again leaving..

This will be interesting since Nick is at work and I'm the one at home..

I actually had fun.. she was so easy to play with.. she loved her teddy bear and was almost always with it..

I was watching TV when I heard the door open

Nick appeared and Alena threw her arms in the air - Uh Ni!

- Hey there! What are you doing here? - he said coming closer to us and picking her up from the couch

- Kevin needed someone to babysit her and since Joe and your parents are out, he rang here and I said yes..

- When do the get her?

- Tomorrow..

- Looks like someone is gonna sleep with Uncle Nick - he said turning his head to her while she grabbed his cheeks

They were so cute together! nick had this amazing gift to baby talk and play with kids.. he was amazing!

I turned around and continued watching TV

That night went pretty well.. Alena was hilarious and I was glad that she was opening more to me and asking for lap.. I felt part of the family!

I was already in bed dressing Alena when something started to smell bad.. I smelled her and made an ugly face - Nick!! - I shouted

- Yeah?

- We git a problem - I said when he peeked his head - Do you know how to change diapers?

- Get a small blanket and put it on the bed

He disappeared and I ran to the bathroom doing what he said.. he came inside with stuff in his hands and I smiled because he looked like a daddy

He picked Alena and put her on top of the towel changing her diaper.. He looked like a daddy

He soon finished and Alena crawled to me again

- I have taken care of her a few times - he smirked cleaning everything up

- That's cool! And if you ask.. It's kinda hot too

He rolled his eyes smiling and Alena sank her head to my chest - You're sleepy aren't you?

I started rocking her a little and Nick laud on his tummy to look at us. He put a hand on her small hand and she grabbed his fingers firmly.. it was beautiful to see and I couldn't wait to see that happen with our own kids

She felt asleep and we tucked her under the sheets going to the living room since it was still very early

- We could be awesome parents huh? - He smiled

I smiled to but then the episode of me losing the baby passed by my head - Yeah.. but first, I should be able to deliver them alive.

He pulled me to a hug and rubbed my arms - It wasn't your fault Dems.. don't worry..

I hugged back and then pulled away going to the couch - Lets watch TV..

We sat together and then soon went to bed.. Alena woke up in the middle of the night and since he's the expert with diapers, I rolled and felt asleep again..
