Drabble #7

Bzzz

The faint sound of a coffee machine made it's way to the bedroom of a modern, yet homey, condo.

Pulling a hand over his face and through his disheveled hair, Jeongguk slowly sat up, his comforter pooling around his frame. His eyes were barely open as he stretched his hands far above his head and yawned.

Jeongguk glanced at the clock, which read 5 AM, and wondered why he was up at this ungodly hour-- especially since it was Saturday. The brunnette slowly pushed himself off the cosy bed in hopes to figuring out why his counterpart was out and about so early in the morning. He treaded into the hallway, his hands pocketed in his baggy sweatpants.

Jeongguk spotted the small frame of his boyfriend in the kitchen, standing right in front of the coffee machine with his shoulders slightly hunched over. He seemed to be staring at nothing, yet a million thoughts were probably racing through his mind.

Jimin had a big performance today, probably one of the biggest ones he ever had before. It was his final project and largest grade of the semester; not only would he be dancing in front of a panel of judges, but to an entire audience. Jimin was even more nervous than usual, which was expected, of course, but Jeongguk didn't think it called for waking up when the sun still hadn't risen.

A small, fond smile came on Jeongguk's face as he made his way over to Jimin. "Nervous?"

"Hm? Oh," Jimin snapped out of his daze and briefly met Jeongguk's eyes. "Yeah, I guess." He let out a nervous chuckle while looking back down to the carafe, which was now full with coffee.

Jeongguk strode over to Jimin and softly pried his hands away from the carafe. "Don't be, hyung," he mumbled, sleep still lacing his voice. "You'll do fine. Let's go back to bed."

Jimin pulled back, hardly using any force; the idea of getting back into the warmth of the bed sounded so pleasing. "I need to practice, Gguk-ah," he responded in a slightly whiny tone.

"You're performance is at 5 in the evening," Jeongguk deadpanned. "You literally have like 12 hours or something."

Jimin looked at the brunette with one eyebrow raised, as if to test how far Jeongguk would go.

"I mean-- you basically perfected your choreography, right?" Jeongguk said with a nervous chuckle in attempts to saving himself. "You really don't have anything to worry about; you literally look like a god while dancing."

Jeongguk didn't fail to notice the blush that dusted Jimin's cheeks as he tugged at his hand-- which was still in his own-- and brought him to his chest. His arms wove around his boyfriend's petite frame, and his head rested on the top of his shoulder.

"Let's go," The younger of the two started to clumsily walk towards their shared bedroom with Jimin in his clutches.

"You're going to make us both fall." Jimin said with a snort, chuckling at Jeongguk's attempt to walk without falling flat upon the hardwood flooring.

"Do you not trust me?" Jeongguk feigned being hurt by Jimin's words. "After all these years?"

"Definitely not right now, nope."

"Well, at least I'll have a cushioned fall."

"Nice to know I'm useful for something, Jeongguk," Jimin said, laughter bubbling from his lips. He opened the door to their bedroom and in a few strides, both of them fell upon the bed.

"Wow, hyung." Jeongguk scooted up to lay his head on their pillows before pulling Jimin close. "Well, I could name a lot of wonderful things about you, but then I would never get to sleep."

"Jerk." Jimin playfully hit Jeongguk's arm. "Just get the sleep you wanted so bad."

Smiles were painted on both of their features, and soon, their eyes closed and their bodies got closer, radiating warmth to one another.
