I had a visitor at 3am and she stood gazing at me through the glass panel. The hairs on my neck and arms rose so I woke up from my sleep to see her standing there – her eyes glaring daggers at me.

A girl who was barely five years old. She had on a blue flowery dress and a oversized sweater with red rain boots on. Her hair was parted and tied in double ponytails. She was cute except for the pale parlour of her skin.

"What are you?" I asked.

She hissed – revealing sharp teeth which alarmed me. "Hiding like a coward," she spoke in another language. "He ought to be pleased."

I stayed silent.

"What a pathetic game you're playing," she spoke, cracking her head in awkward angles no human alive could possibly do. "Pathetic. Scum! Die!"

All of a sudden, her body rose up and with strength unknown to man, the body slammed itself against the glass panel hard enough that it cracked. I watched as the body – now void of any soul – fall to the ground like a sack of potatoes and the doors hissed open for the guards to file into the space, staring down in alarm at the dead girls body.

I panicked. "Patch up the glass!"

One of the guards turned to face me – a look of confusion on his face was apparent. "What on Earth is that?" he asked – turning pale once he saw the glass had cracked. "How did that happen?"

"Hurry up!" I urged.

Before they could get to the body, she sat up mechanically and pointed a crooked finger at me. A smile broke from her lips – revealing ghastly maggots in her mouth before vomiting them out. Live maggots spilled from her mouth and splattered all over the floor – turning the white floor black with their filth.

The guards were spooked and scurried away – their guns aimed at the poor girl.

"Don't shoot!" I yelled. "Whatever you do, do not fire!"

The men did not know what to do. Their training did not include dealing with the undead and they were hesitant in listening to me for their orders so they began to radio in to their boss.

Static was met instead.

Things turned grimmer.

The girl began to laugh. The kind of laugh that brought shivers down your spine and almost burst your eardrums. The kind of laugh that did not belong to any human being.

"Stay close to the walls," I urged. "Do not get close to her."

"What is she?" one of them managed to squeeze out.

"A vengeful spirit has invaded the poor girl's body," I explained. "Shooting her would not help, but cause more problems."

"Die, humans!"

She unleashed an unhealthy amount of dark magic from within her small body – the power aimed to takeover the guards littered around the room. She wanted to devour their souls and get them to follow her command.

"Drop to the floor!"

The men dropped to the floor – cowering in fright as I ordered. Immediately, I pressed a hand to the glass panel and everything turned white – cancelling the darkness.

As soon as it was over, the girl was gone, and so were the maggots.

Everything was back to normal.

Frightened murmurs were overheard from the men and they were confused as to what has happened. I remained where I was – staring at the space where the girl had been, before looking at the cracked glass.

I closed my eyes as hopelessness filled my soul.

He has found me.
