Pairing: Fem!Reader x Ashley Frangipane (Halsey)

Request: Yes || A Halsey one where you guys are really happy together and you're chilling on a couch and playing her short-cut hair

Warnings: SFW || None.

This is an idea I've been wanting to write for a while, but I didn't know who to write it about. So I'm glad I got this request. I'm so sorry it's taken so long to get to it, and also so sorry that it's pretty short compared to what I usually write. I'm gonna be writing a bunch today, so hopefully I can get through a few requests today. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy it.

Power outages at home were boring, and most of the time, uneventful. But power outages at a concert venue while you were halfway across the country from your home, were even worse. They were boring, and uneventful, time consuming, and wasteful, as well as extremely disappointing. While the storm was raging on outside in Moline, Illinois, the lights went out and the entire iWireless Center had lost all electricity.

So, sitting backstage in her dressing room, there were tea-light candles set up all over. On the makeup desk, on the snack table, on the coffee table, and even on the window sill. Occasionally, the room would flash brighter because of the lightning outside, but it would only last for a second or so.

"Angels?" Ashley asked, her head resting on your legs while her body laid along the length of the couch and her feet, now rid of the heels she had been planning on wearing tonight on stage, were laying over top of the armrest at one end of the couch.

"Maybe." You shrugged, fingers lightly twirling through the short black curls that laid, now messily, on top of your girlfriend's head.

"Heaven and hell?"

"Definitely."

A smirk formed on her lips and she looked up at you, "Aliens."

Your eyes glanced down at her with a smile. "Without a doubt."

"Really? You believe in aliens?" She asked with that same devilish smirk on her lips. That same smirk that caused you to fall for her all those years ago.

"Of course. How else do you explain what's happening right now?" You smiled, leaning over and pecking her lips before leaning back up and resting against the back of the couch.

With a raised eyebrow, she looked at you strangely, not understanding. "I would explain it by saying Illinois has strange weather patterns?"

You nodded at the girl and giggled quietly. "Well, you aren't wrong there. But I meant how else would I be able to date you if aliens weren't real. You're so out of this world."

The laugh that was pulled from her was the most pure and precious sound you'd heard in a while. Your fingers continued to ghost through her hair in the dimly candlelit room, and you couldn't help but feel extremely content with how things were panning out.

"I like this."

"You like what, Ash?"

"Sitting here, with you. With the lights down low, and the calming sounds of the storm."

"I like this too. But don't get use to it. You've got a show to put on, as soon as the power comes back."

Maybe power outages weren't so bad after all.
