PART 6

The early hours of the morning seem to be the time in which the kingdom of Caliconia is rife with activity, almost everybody is still awake, except for the servants of the royal household.

Princess Annabel and princess Brooke sat upon the sheep hide carpet that lay upon their joint-bedroom floor. Rifling through various magazines; teen mags, country-living, better-health -- all seemed rather bland. They could not sleep in the slightest, they had tried, but the both of them sat upon their carpet -- awake. Not even reading magazines would lull them to sleep, so they did as any reasonable princesses would do -- they were to leave the palace in search of something to occupy their waking hours.

Alone on a park bench sat Cameron, slumped over himself, robot costume crumbled beside him, with the red MacBook in hand. He wasn't asleep for long, how could he have been with all these thoughts swarming his head. He did the only thing he thought would help, and that was to get some fresh air. The park light shone sombrely over him, casting shadows that emphasised his puffy pink cheeks. Cameron looked so forlorn and defeated, it was to be expected he supposed. He thought he had found a girl so perfect and so beautiful, but it she had turned out to only be a MacBook under the spell of the night...or so he thought. Sick of feeling sorry for himself, he picked himself up and took the MacBook with him - abandoning his robot costume beside that park bench. Cameron wandered the cobbled streets until he happened upon an illuminated building, it was a 24hour diner. He entered into the aged building and sat himself at an empty booth, placing the MacBook onto the table Cameron gazed around the diner. Not too many people were in here, approximately he thought perhaps 5 or so others -- excluding the diner's workers. He excused himself from the table and entered the washroom, splashing his face with the chill water from the faucet he sighed. What was this dream he was in? He wanted to get out of it, but he didn't know how -- not even this cold water could shock him from his unconscious state. The MacBook, he had forgotten about the MacBook, exiting the bathroom as quickly as he could he spotted the laptop. But the laptop was not the only thing at that table, standing next to it was a fiery red head, the exact same shade as...wait he thought. It couldn't be, it was not possible. The MacBook. She had turned into the MacBook he was sure of it, but he was not so sure anymore. This girl in front of him, the back of her...could it be? Was it Mackenzie? Cameron approached the table, cautious and not too hopeful, the girl sensing a presence next to her turned her head. He stopped short, it was her. She was standing right there before his very eyes.

"Mackenzie?"

>"Hey, did you bring my laptop here?

"Uh, yeah", the boy stuttered

>"Oh, thanks, I was so worried about it but I couldn't get it as my shift had already started. -- sorry I had to run off like that, I was already late for my shift start...how did you know I worked here?" The girl spoke emphatically with her hands.

"Oh, well I didn't know you worked here to be honest. I feel kind of stupid now, but when you ran off and I found this laptop, I honestly thought that you had turned into it...Saying that out loud it sounds really dumb." The boy fumbled.

>"Oh really, huh, thats not dumb, to tell the truth its really kind of cute that you thought that, and the fact that you carried it around. A little bit creepy, but mostly cute."

"Oh" a blush began to form on the boy's cheeks, "You thought it was cute? Well I'm glad I could get your laptop back to you." A small smile spread across his face.

>"Yeah, thanks so much for returning it, what luck I have...So can I get you anything to drink? Don't worry about paying, it will be on the house for returning my laptop."

"Oh wow, thank you so much. When you left you said that you had a curfew, but you're working?"

>"Yeah, I do have a curfew, my parents own the place and even though I'm their daughter I still have to be on time for my shifts."

"Why are you're shifts so early in the morning? Don't you sleep?"

>"I do sleep, its just that they were a little tight on staff for this shift so I volunteered. Why are you awake exactly?"

"Oh well I guess that makes sense then, as for me...lets just say that I couldn't sleep. So about a drink being on the house?"

And with that the two of them rekindled their spark, both relieved. Mackenzie was relieved about the returning of her MacBook, and Cameron overjoyed by the fact that the girl he was into was not infact a computer but a real living breathing human.

As for the attentive twins, their journey of the night continues...but not quite yet...
