There is water in my lungs
My soles skim the sea-bed souls
That's when
I can finally breathe.
She asked if I'll be coming back soon.
Soon? I laugh.
Tell me I'll float
To the surface of the river
To kiss the star shine
With soft blue lips.
We were red and blue
Our words true
But we could find the light again.
Because
You and I,
We walk through the Earth
Bare feet
We inhale immortality
Cold lips;
We never have to burn out like stars.
Come, come to the ocean floor with me.
I'll take your hand in mine,
And ask you in a dissolved whisper:
If we were ever to come back
Soon
If you were to follow me into that bleeding skyline.
