By the end of third year I was awfully nervous about Buckbeak's execution. Thank Godric he was able to escape just in the nick of time. Rumor has it that Sirius Black ran off with him. Even though my favorite hippogriff was somewhere safe and sound, it was nearing the end of summer break and I still had not forgiven my brother for risking the life of such a beautiful beast, and for those hurtful words he said to me.

It was only a few days until my brother and I had to go back to Hogwarts for our fourth year. I was excited to go back so I could see Luna again and attend all my favorite classes. Most people don't look forward to going back to school again but I couldn't take my mind off it. Hogwarts was much more pleasant than having to be cooped up in my room all day, no matter what people thought of me.

During the evening I was lying on my bed, daydreaming about my upcoming year at Hogwarts, when I heard a familiar tapping come from my window.

"Why would I be getting mail at this time of night? Maybe it's from Luna." I thought to myself. I got up and opened the window to take the envelope the owl had for me.  Sat on my bed once more, I read the letter.

"Dear (Y/N),

I realize this is out of the blue and we haven't spoken much, but I was wondering how you'd been doing. How's your summer been?

Ron Weasley"

My heart dropped as I read the signature. He was right, it was totally out of the blue and it completely caught me off guard. The last major interaction we had was when he was comforting me after the fight I had with my brother. Butterflies always danced around in my stomach remembering that moment. Snapping back to reality, I realized I would actually have to write him back now. I fumbled at my desk trying to search for a piece of parchment and a quill. My heart began to race as I settled down to write a letter to Ron in my best handwriting.

"Dear Ron,

My summer's been quite dreadful really. It's been full of avoiding my brother and staying in my room. I can't wait to be back at Hogwarts. How about you and your summer?

(Y/N)"

I sent my owl with the letter and impatiently waited for a reply, looking out the window every few seconds to try and spot the owl's return. Finally it came with a reply.

"Dear (Y/N),

I know the feeling. My summer has been dreadful only the last few days. Some rather strange happenings have occurred. Anyways, my brothers and I were going to go to Diagon Alley tomorrow afternoon to take our minds off things before school starts. Would you like to join us?
