The coming weekend was a Hogsmeade weekend and I had been impatiently waiting with Luna outside to start walking to the village. We had our jackets on and faces nuzzled into our scarves now that the weather was fully embracing winter. I was just about to start walking when Ron caught up to us.
"Mind if I join you guys?" he asked.
I looked over at Luna who shrugged. "Go ahead." I smiled at him.
"Great." he smiled back and we all started on our way to Hogsmeade.
As we were walking, Luna tilted her head to one side and began whacking her ear with her palm. She had been at it all day but Ron watched her in confusion as she did so.
"You good there?" Ron raised an eyebrow at Luna.
"Ah yes, it's just a Wrackspurt is all." Luna responded.
"A what-spurt?" Ron seemed even more confused.
"A Wrackspurt... They're invisible. They float in through your ears and make your brain go fuzzy. I've been suffering from it since this morning." she explained.
"I can attest to that... she certainly has been using her ear as a punching bag all day." I chuckled along with them.
"You're an odd one, aren't you?" Ron innocently asked Luna.
"I wouldn't want to be anything but." she confirmed.
I wrapped my arm around Luna's shoulder and pulled her closer next to me. "I wouldn't want you any other way either."

We arrived at Hogsmeade and wandered through a few shops all together. After having some tea and cakes from Madam Puddifoot's tea shop, I spotted Draco walking with Pansy tagging excitedly along behind him. Pansy was a fellow Slytherin and part of Draco's posse, who always followed him around like a lost puppy. Now that Draco had asked her to go to the ball with him though, she was breathing down his neck.
I groaned disgustedly at the sight and Ron seemed to notice my disapproval. "Horrid, isn't it?" he commented as we watched them go off into the distance.
"Very much so." I agreed.
Ron then turned towards us and spoke to Luna. "Is it alright if I steal (Y/N) for a while?"
Luna and I shared a confused look at first. She gave Ron a nod as she happily closed her eyes and smiled sweetly.
Ron's lips turned up in a bright smile as he took my wrist with his hand. "Let's go." he said to me, pulling me along behind him.
My cheeks flushed when he held onto my wrist. "Where are we going?"
"You'll see." He wasn't giving any hints.
We walked off-road and onto a path that had seemingly disappeared by the blanket of snow covering the ground. The path began to snake up a small hill and a tall, rickety old house came into view as we got closer.
"The Shrieking Shack? Isn't it supposed to be haunted?!" I asked Ron.
"...Something like that." Ron hesitated.
We stood by a fence that was meant to keep others out, a row of wooden posts that had barbed wire lazily wrapped across them. I gazed out into the distance where the shack stood, trying to get a glimpse into the windows.
