Monday morning came and I woke up and put on my glasses, took a shower and put on a random t-shirt and jeans from the drawer. Next, I put gel in my hair and hair-sprayed it before I went to the kitchen and grabbed some apple juice and toast. I brushed my teeth, and then headed for school like every other day. I got into the car and blared Mayday Parade's CD. I sang along to every word till I put the car in park. I saw Alex and smiled with a wave to him. He jogged up to my car. "Hey Charlie, how's your morning going so far?"
"It's going great. How's your morning going, Alex?" I said while grabbing my book bag and books to take to the library. Alex smiled at me.
"Great, especially now that I saw you. So I see you still like to read a lot? Let me carry your books my lady," he said, leaning towards me. "Wait, that was just way too cheesy," he stuttered.
"It was cute and sure if you insist, kind sir," I giggled and he offered his arm. I looped mine around his and handed the books to him. "Thank you, Alex, you're so sweet," I said and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"You're the first person to tell me that," Alex said solemnly. "But the truth is, I'm not as sweet as you are Charlie. Don't ever change that," he said with a small smile.
"I'll try hard not to," I responded, holding the door open for him and a couple other people. I jogged to catch back up with him. "So, are you excited for English?"
"Aren't I always? I hear we're reading a new book, yuck! I hate reading," Alex said grudgingly.
"I love reading." I said, hip-bumping him jokingly. "I don't get why you hate English so much."
"I don't get why you love it so much," he said back. "Though, that doesn't change my attitude towards you." He winked while letting our arms fall so he could walk to his desk. I also walked to mine on the other side of him.
I faked gasped and grabbed my heart, "That means so much to me, Alex." Our teacher, Mr. Holmes, walked in with a glare at everyone.
"New novels along with study guides for them are under your desks, so get them out and start reading and answering the questions. Get as far as you can. The test will be Friday and study guides due Thursday." He went to his desk and started grading papers. "Absolutely no talking." Alex passed me a note and we wrote back and forth till the bell rang.
"Well, science calls. I'll see you soon?" Alex asked, leaning in and hugging me.
"Of course you will. Any plans for Saturday night?" I asked hopefully, hugging him back.
"We have a show, but other than that, nope. Want to spend the day with me and hang out afterwards?" Alex asked smoothly.
"That sounds fun. Want to see a movie after?" I asked.
"Oh yeah, there's a new romantic comedy I've been wanting to see, but I forgot the name, how about that?" Alex asked excitedly.
“I love romantic comedies. Want to get breakfast at Uncle Benny's Cafe around 8?" I asked.
"Sounds like a deal." Alex said then kissed me on the cheek. I blushed so hard. "You're really cute when you blush," he stated before he ran off to class. I smiled and walked to class happily. Economics went by slowly. I couldn't wait for Saturday to come. The bell rang and I headed to science. We were getting lab partners for the year. Luckily my chosen lab partner was John and we were told to move next to our partners. I sat next to John and smiled.
