“Here comes the bride, Amelia.” I sang to her.
“Hayley pretty.” Amelia shouted happily clapping her hands. Hayley and I laughed at her.
“She's one and she speaks the truth.” I winked and let Amelia loose. “You look beautiful and I'm not saying that just because you're my best friend.” I hugged her tightly and whispered, “I love you, and I'm so happy for you.” I nudged her slightly to lighten the mood. “Come back here, Amelia.” I shouted to her. I nodded my head at Hayley with a smile and picked Amelia up.
“Well, let me go and get my hair and make-up done.” Hayley said nervously. “Hopefully all goes well.”
“It'll go perfectly. Today is your day and we're all going to make sure it goes smoothly. Now go get pretty.” We both left the room. Amelia and I went to sit in the sanctuary of the church with the rest of the guests.
Tyson stopped me halfway there, “Is she mine?” He asked nervously pointing to Amelia.
I laughed and winked, “Well, she certainly doesn't have my eyes, so yeah she's ours.”
“She's beautiful.” He said rubbing his neck. “So John and Hayley are tying the knot finally.” He smiled.
“Yeah, she wanted to have a spring wedding so they waited till now. It's going to be such a beautiful wedding. So how have you been?” I asked him awkwardly with Amelia squirming to get down.
“Good, can I hold her for a minute?” He asked hopefully.
I smiled, “Sure, if she doesn't successfully wiggle out of your arms.” I passed Amelia to him and we walked to the sanctuary together and shared small talk.
“Want to sit with me?” He asked me.
“Sure, why not?” I sat next to him and we played with Amelia.
“Hey, sweetie,” James said giving me a kiss. “Amelia, have you been being good today?” She giggled happily throwing her arms out for him. He picked her up, “Hey, Tyson, how have you been?”
“Good, you?” Tyson asked confused. John and Brendan walked to the alter starting the ceremony. I waved at the of them. The music started and the flower girl and the bridesmaids came out with Hayley slowly following them. “She looks beautiful.” Tyson whispered in my ear and I nodded in agreement.
Finally the preacher asked John, “Do you take this bride to be yours for the rest of your life?”
“Always and forever I do.” John answered sweetly.
“I now pronounce you man and wife. You may now officially kiss your bride.” They smiled at each-other in complete bliss and kissed passionately.
