Morning came quickly; I woke up to a text from a freaking out Hayley. "I don't know what to wear. I'm so nervous! Will you come over and help me get ready?"
I smiled and replied, "Sure, I'll be there in twenty minutes." I got up and started to get ready. Then I walked down stairs and talked to my dad, telling him that I was getting ready to go to Hayley's and that I would be back as soon as possible. I ran to my room and grabbed my phone and keys. I rushed to the car as I noticed my phone's light flashing green, telling me of a new message.
I looked and read Hayley's text. "Thanks, you're the best. I'm so nervous I can't stand it, haha."
I laughed and wrote back, "On my way now." Then I started the car with a smile. Halfway there, I received three texts. I waited till I arrived to check them. One was from Hayley and the other two were from Alex and Tyson. I decided not to read either of the guys yet and read Hayley's, "Ok, the doors unlocked so just come in and I'll be in my room waiting." I smiled as I got out and locked my doors just in case. Then I walked in the house and went straight to her room.
"Bonjour Hayley, how are you on this fine morning?" I asked her, jumping onto her bed. She laughed and I noticed the clothes everywhere in the room. "Someone's been having a bit of a meltdown today," I joked, picking up the clothes and organizing the room.
"I'm ok, just freaking out. Does it look that bad?" she asked, sitting down. "I just can't find the right outfit for today," she explained, looking at the floor with a frown on her face. I poked her and made a silly face to make her smile. She smiled back at me and stuck out her tongue. "You're such a goof ball."
"I know and it's not that bad Hayley. Where are y'all going on the date?" I asked.
"We're going to a nice fancy restaurant and then to the movies after lunch," she said excitedly. "I can't wait to see John dressed up. He said he really wanted to impress me." She smiled and giggled at the memory. "I still can't believe he likes me."
"I can and that's so cute. I know what you should wear." I hopped up and walked to her closet and pulled out her nice red dress. "This dress with your favorite high heels." I pointed to them and grabbed some jewelry and a short sweater and laid it all down on the bed. "This necklace, earrings, and bracelet would be perfect. You're going to look beautiful." I smiled and plugged in the curling iron. She got dressed and we did her hair and make-up while talking about our favorite TV show.
Finally when we were walking to go peek out the window, the doorbell rang. "Stay here and I'll get the door," I whispered to her. She stopped and I ran and opened the door to see John dressed up at the door with a dozen red roses in his hand.
He smiled and said, "These are for Hayley and, hey, what are you doing here Charlie?"
I looked at him dead in the eye. "Wait, isn’t this my house?" He freaked out.
"I'm so sorry! I swore this was the address Hayley gave me. Do you know where she is?" he spoke sincerely. Hayley and I laughed and John looked around and spotted her. A grin spread across his face. "So whose house is this for real?"
Hayley raised her hand, laughing too hard to answer. I told him, "Sorry, John it was just too tempting to resist. I'm just here because you know how girls are; we help each other get ready for a cute date." I winked at him and gave Hayley a thumbs up. "You two be safe. Remember to not do anything stupid. So I'll see you two tomorrow." I shut the door behind me as they talked. I smiled to myself about the two dating. I kept feeling my phone, tempting me to read the texts, but I decided to wait till I got home.
