(this is in the perspective of the prince)

I need complete quiet. I have to focus in order to make this shot. I take a deep breath, and release my bow. Perfect shot. And then reality takes its aim.

"Your Highness, It's time to begin your travel." I sigh. I don't have any problem with the journey, I instead have a problem with the destination. I must go to the country of Nilana. I believe the country is having a wedding or something. I personally did not pay attention to the details. I felt it would be unnecessary. I honestly do not see the reason for my participation in this wedding. It is not mine. However my father insisted I go. Alone

"If we show our interest, it is a sure way to an alliance." He loves to remind me of how I have a "duty" to other countries. I often feel like we take care of other countries more than our own. And I am fully aware of the fact that alliances are important. It is just the fact that my country has the strongest army in the entire region, and maybe world. I never saw the need for the excessive balls and parties. Besides, if we had an alliance with a country that focuses on parties, we may not need an alliance after all. What are the going to do in battle, dance the soldiers away?

"You're Highness!" You can never get a minute of peace in this castle, can you?

"I'm coming Julian!" I place my bow and quiver on the ground. I walk calmly over to Julian. I have gotten used to the man's whining every time my father calls. He is my fathers right hand man, but he is constantly on my back. He most likely wants to keep his place when I am crowned king.

"Your Highness-," Julian starts, but I hold up my hand and he stops talking and bows.

"Let's just begin our expedition." I say with a sigh. I take a final look around the rose garden. The roses are in vibrant colors from pink to red to a striking violet. I sigh and think to myself. Nothing could make this trip worth it.
