(This is in the perspective of the Princess)
I hold my side as I am rushed out of the ball room by an angry Jonathan. I was not expecting this reaction from him. Most royals, even my parents turn a blind eye, and some even do the same as Dorian. I can feel the eyes of the other royals as we rush out of the ballroom. I look over at my parent as they stare at us in disbelief. When Jonathan and I arrive in the hall, he ask the guard at the door where the infirmary is. He looks from Jonathan to me, and I can see realization dawn in his eyes. Even the palace guards can see what is going. I close my eyes and sigh, but instantly regret it. A sharp pain erupts from my stomach as I clutch my side and groan from the pain. Jonathan rushes to my side as I lean over and cry from the pain. It is as if someone is stabbing me in the rib over and over again. The guard reacts quickly.
“Stand on guard Jacob.” He speaks to his peer, and then turns toward us. “Please follow me.” We rush down the hall, and soon it hurts to walk. I stop when the pain becomes unbearable. Jonathan looks back at me with concern. He takes one look at me, and it’s like he instantly understands. He picks me up bridal style and we continue down the hall. I feel a sharp pain and clutch onto him tightly. After several more minutes of pain, we reach the infirmary. The guard bows quickly, and returns to his post. Jonathan opens the door to the infirmary, walks in and gently places me on the nurses bed. I lay down slowly and try to relax as the nurse rushes in. She doesn’t look shocked, just surprised to see me. She’s seen me in here before. I guess she just didn’t expect to see me tonight. Maybe she believed he would show some kind of civilization tonight. And I guess I thought the same. I hear her sigh. She comes to help me. Soon I am lying down with a bandage on my waist. I feel embarrassed. The prince is here and all he sees is abuse and tolerance. Not only do I tolerate this, but the entire palace does. As if in my mind, the prince speaks.
“Why do you tolerate this? You do realize that you are the princess, and the up and coming queen. Why do you let him treat you like a servant. In a matter of 1 day, I’ve managed to see you get abused several times. And your palace doesn’t seem to care. Not even your parents. If no one is going to care, you need to make sure you care. You deserve love Jewel.” He looks at me with gentle eyes, bends down in front of me and takes my hands. “Please listen to me. In the small amount of time, I see greatness. Do not let anyone destroy your light.” He touches my face lightly and moves my head so that we are making eye contact. We stare at each other as he moves closer to me.
