I look up at the question no one has asked me since the beginning of this engagement.
"Excuse me?" I look at the prince in front of me. I assumed everyone would ignore me and the question. However all eyes were on me.
"I asked how you feel about the wedding, or rather, engagement."
I look around the table and meet eyes with Dorian, who gives me a warning look. I plaster on a smile and reply calmly.
"I am delighted to marry his highness." To my surprise, the prince speaks again.
" You speak as if you aren't a princess." I am shocked by his bluntness. I begin to stutter.
"I-i am a princess, I just have respect for Lord Dorian."
"You never once call him your fiance, or anything romantic, for that matter. It makes me wonder, do you really love him?"
Dorian becomes livid.
"That's enough!"
The prince sits and sips wine while staring at me over the glass. I begin to wonder, who is this man.
