"Sometimes letting things go Is an act of far greater power Than defending or hanging on"Eckhart Tolle
It was a Saturday, spent like any other day out of the week. I stayed confined within the walls of my apartment. Usually watching whatever would interest me, while stuffing my face. I was clearly confused when I hear an eager knock on my door.
Quickly running towards the door, it became quite clear to me who exactly was on the other side. The door opened and there she stood sporting her full wattage smile.Reina.
There she stood with a wine bottle in her hand, she looked exhausted.
"You down?", She asked motioning towards the wine. She knew she wouldn't get a no from me. Wine was almost an obsession of mine.
"Girl get your butt in here", I said chucking softly as she stepped into my residence.
"Damn Ada, it's been a while since I've been here", She said placing the wine on the counter, immediately looking for the wine glasses. No matter how long Reina was gone she knew my apartment like the back of her hand. Her own apartment was a few doors down.
"You know both of our work schedules are quite crazy", I said taking the wine glass from as we both sat on the couch.
Reina owned a hair salon, she was quite the talk around here. She was the best at what she did. Everyone came to her for their hair needs.
"Yeah, but anything new happened with you", She asked. She loved hearing about my patients only the information I could share with her that is.
"Well um, I got a new patient this past week", I said quietly thinking back towards my session with Amaru
"Ooohhh Any details you can give out Ms. Therapist ? ", She questioned more than interested.
" Well with him I can tell it is going to be a difficult few weeks", I spoke whole heartedly. Amaru showed no signs of opening up. I knew I would have to make an effort to get to the root of his issues
"Oh it's a he", Reina had an obvious smirk upon her face.
"Yeah, it is, and why is that the only thing you got out of what I said", I asked
"I'm sorry that the moment you bring up a man I got a little more interested in the conversation", She spoke with a proper accent.
"Yeah Yeah, whatever", I said fanning her off. She was something
"Was he fine?", She asked eagerly as if her life depended on that answer. Ada paused she hadn't really noticed Amaru's striking facial features, it was all coming back to her. His looks could kill, and Ada knew it, but this was all new to her. Amaru was the only male in the past years she could even say she found attractive, everything stopped after her departure from him
"Um yeah I guess you could say that", She spoke almost silently ready for Reina's outburst
"Oh Ada is back in the game, look at my baby girl growing up. I'm so proud of you", She said wiping her fake tears.
"Did I not mention to you that he was a client of mine", I asked she clearly couldn't be serious
"I heard that part but he's not going to be your client forever sooo0", She dragged out the so as if I were supposed to finish her sentence
