I said there would be fangirling, so here it is! I love Taylor's music so much, so it was really hard to narrow my top picks down. If you haven't heard some of these songs, definitely go and check them out! I'm going to have separate chapters for each album, so here's my top three picks from her very first album! It's crazy how much she and her voice have changed since her debut album came out!
1. Our Song
"I've heard every album, listened to the radio
Waited for something to come along
That was as good as our song"
This song is so damn cute, and really makes me wanna dance! It's a little cheesy, but that makes it more fun!
2. Mary's Song (Oh My My My)
"I'll be eighty-seven; you'll be eighty nine
I'll still look at you like the stars that shine
In the sky, oh my my my"
This song was inspired by Taylor's next-door neighbors who met as kids. It's pretty much the evolution of a relationship, from little kids, to teens in love, to an old couple still in love.
3. Cold As You
"And you come away with a great little story
Of a mess of a dreamer with the nerve to adore you"
I could really feel Taylor's emotions in this song; her sadness and frustration really came through.
Also, Grammy nominations just came out, and Taylor was only nominated for ONE! Anyways, go vote for the Epic Reads Book Shimmy Awards!
