P.S. I definitely should be studying for midterms right now, but here I am, procrastinating!
Time for another album ranking! Now we've arrived at my favorite Taylor Swift album, Speak Now. When I think of this album, I think of fairytale and whimsy. And as always, I won't be including extra songs from the deluxe edition.
Speak Now:
1. Long Live
"Hold on to spinning around
Confetti falls to the ground
May these memories break our fall"Long Live is an absolutely iconic song. It is Taylor's ode to the fans, to everyone that helped get her where she is now. Something about just gives me a real sense of catharsis, and I could never get tired of it. It is almost like a quintessential goodbye song to me. It makes you reflect back on good times, and can really coax out a tear or two. I played this song on the last day of school last year, one of the last times I saw one of my good friends before she moved away.
2. Enchanted
"This is me praying that this was the very first page
Not where the story line ends
My thoughts will echo your name, until I see you again
These are the words I held back, as I was leaving too soon"Enchanted is a song that feels like something out of a magical daydream. It's about Owl City's Adam Young, and the story behind this is actually pretty interesting. So pretty much Taylor and Adam were emailing each other, and this song is about when they finally met in person. Adam later did a cover of Enchanted, but Taylor never responded :( and he still seems to have a bit of a crush on her. I will forever ship those two because of this song! Here's a link explaining the story in more detail:

3. The Story of Us
"This is looking like a contest
Of who can act like they care less
But I liked it better when you were on my side
But I would lay my armor down
If you say you'd rather love than fight"The thing that I love most about Taylor Swift is how she tells stories through each and every song. So of course I'd love this song, which is told in a story-like format. She sings this song in chapters, and appropriately ends the song with "the end". Overall just an amazing and really catchy song!
That's all for today, but I've got one last thing to say.
RIP Boo, the world's cutest dog. You will be missed.
