School was canceled and everyone was sent home that day the lizard man attacked. That was a week ago.

It was a weekend. Our parents are currently at work, leaving my brother and I to do whatever. We're both currently in my room.

"I've been thinking about this superhero thing," Dylan admits. "I do really want to do this, but I think I should work from the shadows for now. You should be the one out there. You're the one that has better control of power between the two of us."

"Dylan, you're the one that wants to be a hero. I'd rather not." I nervously rub my hands together.

"You have the power, why not use it for something worthwhile?" he says.

I sigh, contemplating my choice. "Well, what should my costume look like?"

He grins and pulls out all sorts of designs he's drawn. "I've drawn a few ideas."

"These designs are way too complex," I admit. "Neither of us are very good at sewing either."

"True."

"I... think all I need is a eye mask," I say, moving to my closet. I pull out my MHA hoodie, a mouth mask, and some winged leggings. "This'll work."

"You can't go out in things you got at comic con!"

"Why not? It's not like we can acquire proper materials!" I complain. "To do that we'd have to find someone and have them know our secret. Too risky."

He slumps back on my bed. "Again true..."

"We can order the eye mask online," I say. "You can research about protective gear I can put on underneath the hoodie or whatever. I'm heading to the roof for some air."

~Spider-man's POV🔴🕸🔵~
Play the recording! It's me!~~~ (The ending is too abrupt 🙄) Don't worry to rush through reading the recording's about a minute

Lizard's in prison. No homework. No tests to study for. So far no problems on this patrol. This is a nice relaxing Saturday. Aaaaand let's hope I didn't just jinx it...

A child's scream is released nearby, only for it to be a young girl not wanting to go home. (You'll hear it in the recording then continue reading.)

My ears pick up the sound of someone singing. It likely wouldn't've been picked up by anyone else though. Heightened senses and all that.

"Pretty."

It draws me in without much thought if it could be a trap or not. I'm a victim to the siren's call. I swing up to the top of a large luxury apartment complex where the hauntingly beautiful singing is coming from. Sitting on the edge of the roof with her feet dangling over the side is my newest friend, Melody. She continues to sing as I land on the roof behind her. I begin to walk up to stand beside her.

She quirks her head in my direction at the sound of my step but continues to sing. As I make my way, listening as I go, I try to be as quiet as possible to not interrupt. I end up sitting next to her to see that her eyes are closed as she gently sways to her voice, deeply enthralled in her singing. Her voice becomes more clear and powerful as I get closer, slowly drowning out the sounds of New York around us.

She finishes, keeping her eyes closed. "Who are you? I don't recognize your footsteps."

"I'm your friendly neighborhood Spiderman," I immediately answer.

Her eyes open in confusion only to look at me with wide eyes. "You..." She looks down at the symbol on my chest and falls back onto the roof, shuffling backwards.

"A-Are you okay?" I ask worriedly. "Did I-I do something wrong? I didn't mean to scare you!"

She points at me, mouth gaping like a fish. "You're... m-my... t-the..." She quickly stands up and rushes inside the building, face completely flushed.

I tilt my head in confusion. "Well, that was weird... Wish she would've sung longer. It was... hypnotic."

~~~Mel's POV 🎵~~~
I slam the door of the roof behind me and slump down against it, trying to calm myself down. I breathe in and out, in and out.
"Spiderman? Is... my soulmate? Who even is Spiderman? Sounds familiar..."
I quickly stand up and rush back downstairs to our penthouse, slamming the door to my room open.
Dylan looks at me with wide eyes. "What's wrong?"
I rip my wrappings off my shoulder and move over to the mirror to look at my soulmark. It's brighter than before, meaning it's true. "I..."
Dylan moves up to me curiously. "What's–" He cuts himself off at seeing my soulmark and his eyes widen. "You met your soulmate?!"
My eyes are as equally wide as his as I turn to him. "Spiderman. Red, blue, spider, and on a spiderweb. This is his symbol."
