indeed jack was feeling confused. he was sat beside gabbie, but his attention was on zach across the cafeteria who was sat with his friends laughing and talking. jack tried to not feel jealous as he watched eben and zach flirt, jack remembering the two at nicks party made it harder for him not be jealous. but he wasn't going to say anything or disturb the peace between him and gabbie.

jonah was also sat at their table, but he stayed beside tate's side far away from zach as humanly possible. jack could tell from afar he did not want to be sitting with zach.

"babe we're you even listening?" gabbie whines wrapping her arms around his waist to gain his attention.

jack clears his throat, turning to look at gabbie and smiling softly down at her. "yeah, yeah i was." he licks his lips smiling down softly at her.

corbyn scoffs from the other end of the table rolling his eyes at the couple. "he clearly wasn't listening to your bitching gabbie." corbyn spat, clearly growing annoyed with her presence. "you know what, i'm going to sit with zach today." he stands up, grabbing all his belongings.

"what was that about?" gabbie questions looking towards corbyn who was glaring at the couple.

"not sure."

zach was sat outside, the chilly night air hitting against his bare arms. jack was sat beside him, the pair deciding to take a break from homework. it had become usual now for jack to come over to zach's and work on homework. it was almost as if they had an unspoken agreement.

"jack are you okay?" zach softly questions looking over at the elder male who was more quiet than usual, his lip between his teeth has he was lost in thought. zach could tell he had a lot of things on his mind and he was curious as to what they are.

jack clears his throat nodding his head before speaking. "yeah...yeah i'm fine." he fakes a smile, attempting to not let zach know he was lying. he wasn't doing okay. but he couldn't tell zach this because he was the primary reason why he wasn't doing okay.

"why'd you leave?" zach questions, bringing up the night jack had left his house and didn't return or give me an explanation to why.

jack hoped he wouldn't bring that up, but he couldn't keep avoiding the situation. "i was worried about isla." he lies smiling softly at zach.

zach didn't believe him, but he didn't pester on. either. the pair were now immersed in silence the only sound audible was the sound of cars driving down the poorly lit streets and the sound of the breeze rustling through the trees.

zach glances over at jack, to find he was also staring. the pair held eye contact, their eyes flicker to each other's lips. he's just a bet zach. he told himself trying to calm the pounding of his heart. the pair didn't notice how close they had become, zach could feel jack's breath against his cheek, sending shivers down his spine.

their eyes met, and almost as if having a conversation with one another, jack moves closer to zach, their noses now touching. zach sucks in a breath, licking his lips quickly.

"can i kiss you?" zach mutters shyly staring at jack who nods quickly.

"please." and with those pleading words zach connects his lips with jack's rough but yet smooth pink lips. jack immediately kisses back, not hesitating to allow zach to deepen the kiss farther.

zach pulls jack closer, his arms now around his shoulders to steady them, jack's hands laid flat in his lap. zach could taste the overpowering minty flavor of his lips, from his peppermint chapstick. zach smiles smugly into the kiss, pulling away slightly to rest his head against jack's.

"whoa." jack says softly touching his lips, he looks back at zach shock evident on his face.

"good whoa or bad?" zach cockily says smirking at jack.

"both."

why did i kiss zach, more importantly why did i kiss back and allow him to kiss me?
