Some people say that coma's are false hope. That they are just awaits for tragic deaths, that they are just money wasters and time takers for those who can't afford to know that their loved ones are gone. Other's say, they are miracles. They are God's given gifts for another chance. They are a period of time where the victim is given the choice to stay or not. Where they choose, if the fight is worth it if the fight will pay it off....

In Carter's case, it was the latter.

Matthew had pushed. He had been fighting everyday and it broke his tiny heart to know that he could hear everyone around him, but he couldn't respond back. He could feel their shaking hands, but he couldn't intertwine their fingers in a way of notifiying, he's okay. He couldn't do any of that. He heard so many things he probably wasn't supposed to hear, like for example that Carter WAS dating Deborah, and that Nash has gotten worse and so much other things.

So he pushed. He pushed as hard as he could, he fought with everything he had, it was such an overwhelming choice; should he stay? He should stay. So he did. Most importantly, because he knew that Carter wanted this.

So that morning when Carter walked in, eyes groggy, face tired, no trace of sleep whatsover, he opened his eyes. In fact, they were open before Carter walked in. He had woken up during the night time, the nurses took care of everything and Carter was called in the moring.

They met his, and they stayed for a while just like that, staring into each other and not knowing how to react. Matt was weak, and so was Carter at this very moment but that didn't stop him from running over to the bed and hugging him. Hugging him tight, so tight. From the assurance that his partner was alive, and Nash- oh how delighted Nash will be when he realizes Matthew's alive?

"How-what-how did you w-wake up?" Carter stuttered, staring at him with a surprised expression.

"I heard you."

Carter furrowed his eyesbrows. "You heard me?" Carter suddenly went from confusion to sudden realization, to shock, to sadness. "Oh. You heard me."

"And I knew you were dating Debora-"

"We broke up! Um, yeah, we broke up." Carter rushed out, sitting down in the chair next to Matt and squeezing his hand.

Matthew swallowed lightly. "It doesn't matter anymore."

The room grew silent and soon enough Matt broke it. "Where's Nash?"

Carter bit his lip. "In Carolina with Cameron."

Matt made an O with his lips and nodded. "When can he come visit?" He knew how devastated Nash was when he realized that he was in a coma, he knew how devastated he was that he thought Matt was going to die. He heard everything, so he wanted to see them as soon as possible.

"Nash is moving with me and Cameron here in California." Carter said. Matthew put on a surprised expression and Carter laughed. "I know, you were asleep for a while buddy."

Matthew smiled softly.

"How has Nash been?"

"He's much better."

The room was filled with an eerie silence that had deafened both their ears. None of them spoke, but one question that had kept on lingering in Matthew's head from the minute he woke up to now, had been urging on a spill. Matt was so baffled at all these horrible this occuring, he always thought good things happened to good people. Was that it? Was that the storm that had hopefully blown over now? Was that everything that was supposed to happen in order for them to remain content for the rest of their short lives? Matt prayed it was true, and Matt asked his final question.

"So, everything's going to be okay?"
