Pedro is back. He will be flying back and forth to Mali, but he's going to be stationed here for a week and then it's back to Mali for a long time. It's nice having him back. He's happy to get some home-cooked meals and decent sleep. He told me in Mali he was sleeping in his plane, in between missions. Sahara Command had stepped up operations because the mass was moving and heading towards populated areas. They had to be stopped, so he was going to be doing runs between the base and Mali for a week delivering supplies. Once the supply run was finished Pedro was to be based in Mali until operations were over.

Although it was a tough job, Pedro is grateful he is in the air and not on the ground. He believes the people on the ground have it the worst. I didn't say anything when he said that to me. I mean his life was in as much danger. If he were to crash there's nothing anyone could do to help him and his crew—if they survived the crash that is.

I am less stressed knowing I am going to see him in the evenings, even though it is only for one week. At least he is here.

I went to see Fergie today. We chatted outside in the sun. He made camomile tea. It was nice. For once we didn't talk about me, we talked about him. He told me he met someone and there may be potential, but he wasn't sure. I pointed out he was the one who was always telling me we had a responsibility towards rebuilding the human race.

"Oh, that's not the issue," he said. "The problem is I don't want to limit myself to just one person."

I couldn't believe it. Fergie, a player? But the more I think about it the more I see it. He is a handsome guy and a charmer. I suppose being a psychiatrist helps. I told him he can get into the ladies' heads. He said it would be unethical and laughed. I laughed too.
