I pulled into the drive way, turned off my car and looked at the house in front of me. Blue with white shutters, a big wrap around porch, chairs sitting on each end. The big oak tree in the front yard. I never had any of this. I grew up in a high rise, with streets and cars everywhere. This place was so quiet and well, homey. I was a chef at one of the local restaurants in town and Sam was working at the main Law firm. I grabbed my purse then walked into the house.
" Hey, how was work? " Sam asked pouring coffee into his favorite mug.
" It was long and I need a hot bath. " I laughed.
" You ready for your case tomorrow?"
He took a drink from his cup then sat down at the table.
" I don't know. "
I set my purse down, stood behind him, wrapped my arms around his neck and rested my chin on his shoulder.
" Sam, you can do this. There is a reason why they put you on this case. "
He let out a sigh as I kissed his cheek.
" Don't you dare start doubting yourself now. "
I picked up the laundry basket and took it upstairs into Sam's room. I was putting his clothes in the closet, when one of his shirts got caught on something. I pushed the clothes to the side and seen news paper clippings, sticky notes and napkins all tacked to the wall. I ran my fingers through my hair and let out a sigh. I pushed everything back and closed the door when I heard him coming upstairs.
" You wanna go see a movie or something tonight? " He asked, coming into the room.
I pulled on a smile and picked up the basket.
" I would, but I'm exhausted and I've got a 12 hour day tomorrow. "
" You really need a day off. "
" No time for days off. " I laughed heading into my room.
" Seriously Bec, we haven't stopped since we got here. It's been what a year? Why don't we take a road trip? Go anywhere. "
" You feel cooped up? "
" No, why do you say that? "
" Come on Sam, this is the first time you've been in a place longer than a month. "
" Okay, yeah I need to hit the road. I need a little get away. "
" I thought this was our getaway. "
He let out a breath.
" It is, this case is just getting to me I guess. "
I thought about the stuff in his closet and knew that it wasn't his job case that was getting to him.
" Alright, I smell like a kitchen, give me ten minutes to shower, then we can go and get some food and catch a movie. Deal? " I smiled.
" Deal. You got ten minutes and then I'm leaving, with or without you. "
I let out a breath when he left my room. I knew he missed hunting, and he just didn't want to tell me. I needed to read whatever he had posted. I shook my head got in the shower, then we went out for the night.
" Look who we have here. " Crowley smirked as Amara and Dean came into his parlor.
" Is everything in order? " Amara asked.
" New and improved Purgatory is right down the hall. "
" Good, I've kept my end of this deal, now you make him feel at home. I will check in, in a couple of days to see how you are doing. "
