Jason's pov

The train takes us to a huge castle. "Whoa." Miranda whispers beside me. "What is that place?" "That's Hogwarts!" Ron says, pointing out the window at the castle. "Have you been before?" I ask. "Well.... No... But my parents are wizards and they told me all about it. My brothers have all been there." He says, sitting back down. I glance at Miranda. "Why'd you call us Muggleborn?" He laughs a little. "Oh yeah. Wizards call no mag people muggles. Your parents are muggles." Weird stuff. "This is too weird." I'm actually surprised her overprotective mom let her go. We get off the bus. There's a really tall guy standing there smiling. "Welcome first year wizards!" He shouts enthusiastically. "I am Rubeus Hagrid." We ride in a boat to the castle. A woman dressed in green smiled in the doorway. "Welcome students to Hogwarts!" She says, gesturing to the open doorway. We go inside and there was a gigantic cafeteria with candles floating in the air. "Wow." I whisper. "It's beautiful." Miranda says. The woman walks to the front of the room along with the tall man and a guy with a long beard. "I'm headmaster Albus Dumbledore. You first must be sorted into a house." There was a hat on the table behind him. "I'm so excited." Ron says. "What's going on?" I whisper. "Just watch." He whispers back. They call names one by one and students put on the hat. To my surprise, it talks. I'm nervous when Dumbledore calls my name. Everyone is looking at me so I walk up there, not sure. He puts the hat on and I shut my eyes tight. "Hmm, brave, strong. Gryffindor!!" The rest of the Gryffindor kids cheer. What does all this mean?

Miranda's pov

I wave to Jason with a smile, trying to reassure him. He's so untrusting here. I see why but I think we're fine. I jump slightly when my name is called. My best friend smiles. I shoot him a glare and walk up there. The headmaster smiles and sets it on my head. "Smart, creative.... Ravenclaw!" My eyes go wide. The hat thinks I'm smart. I step down and walk to the clapping Ravenclaw kids. I was hoping we'd be in the same house. After the sorting was over, we met up in the hallway. "It's not wrong ya know." He says, surprising me. "You are smart and ya write songs all the time for me so you're creative." I sigh. "I just wish we were sorted together." I say. "Me too. I'm nervous about this place." He hugs me and we go our separate ways.

Jason's pov

Whoa. Athens. "How... How'd they know... I'd be sorted into Gryffindor?" Ron laughed behind me. "They didn't. They used a spell to get your stuff here. You've got a pet owl?" I shrug. "He dropped my letter off and just stayed with me." He opens a pet carrier and pulls out a rat. "Ew." I whisper. "This is my rat Scabbers." That's gross. I sit down on the bed. "This is cool and all but I've got such a bad feeling." "You're fine here. Even headmaster Dumbledore learned magic here." Wow. That guy is old. I flash back to a couple days ago before we got to King's Cross.

~flashback~

We went to Diagon Alley, the name on the paper. That's where we got our books and stuff. But the craziest moment was.... Our wands.

~flashback over~

I nervously pull it out. "Whoa. Tats a cherry wand, Phoenix feather. Only the really powerful wizards can handle those wands." Whoa. "Some guy named Ollivander gave it to me. Maybe he made a mistake. I'm not powerful." I gasp. "Ollivander has never made a mistake in all his 75 years of giving out wands. You're going to be one of the most powerful wizards alive." Whoa.
