Jason's pov

"Today is our first quidditch lesson." Ron said while I was getting ready for class. "What's quidditch?" He laughs. "Do you ever read anything about your classes?" He gapes. I shake my head. "I'm not much of a reader." I say. "Otherwise you'd have been in Ravenclaw." I spin around caught off guard. Miranda stood in the doorway smirking. "How in bloody hell did you get in here?" Neville gapes, staring at her shocked. "I have my ways." She says, walking in the room. "In all of Hogwarts, no house has gotten into another common room." Neville says, walking over to her. "Maybe its cause noone has ever tried. But when you get paired into a different house apart from your best friend, you come up with a few tricks." "Anyways we're getting off topic. Quidditch is a sport where you fly on brooms." My eyes go wide and Miranda laughs. She knows how competitive I am. Just look  at my baseball career. Ron smirks. "I can see that look in your eye."

*a few hours later*

I finally get to the class I've been excited for all day. Quidditch. "Hello class. We're going to learn how to fly!" The teacher excitedly exclaims. Ron is bursting with excitement. I can barely contain my own. I love sports and I've got to say. I missed baseball a lot since coming here. A blonde kid from Slytherin gives me a dirty look. What did I do? I don't even know him! Jerk. We go to our brooms. "Just put your hand over your broom and say Up." She says, surprising me. That's all? I do as she says and it flies into my hands easily. "Whoa." I whisper breathless. Ron does it and his broom whacks him in the face. Several kids laugh at him. Including that jerk kid. "Come on Ron you can do it." He rubs his nose and shakily puts a hand over his broom again. "You have to be authoritative. You control your broom not the other way around." The teacher says walking by. "Up!" The broom shoots into his hand and he smiles. "Great job, man!" She teaches us how to fly and it's way more invigorating than running bases. "Woohoo! I'm invincible!" Ron shouts zooming passed me. I laugh. Someone bumps into me from behind. "Filthy mudblood." The blonde grumbles flying passed really fast. I almost fall off my broom from the wind. "Jerk!" I shout annoyed. Ron flies over beside me, glaring at the kid. "That's Draco. He thinks he's all that just because his family is a descendant from Salazar Slytherin." "Who?" "One of the founders of Hogwarts. Seriously Jason, you need to read up on your history." My history? "Um I'm no pureblood. This isn't technically my history." He laughs and shakes his head. "You're a wizard. Just because your parents aren't doesn't make Hogwarts and the history of magic not a part of your own history." Jeez. "I don't know man. I don't feel right about all that." We land. "Read up. You'll learn alot. If ya want Hermione would help you." My face heats up. "Why are you suggesting that?" "I know you like her." "What?! No I don't!" I gasp, embarrassed. "Yeah you do." He says laughing and poking me in the side. I glare at him annoyed. "No I don't. We're friends and that's it. I thought you had a crush on her?" His eyes go wide, his face red too.  "Uh um no I don't. She's just a know it all. She shouldn't even be in our house anyway." "Come on man that's harsh." Just then Hermione shoves passed him, her eyes covered by her hands. Shit. "I think she heard you." She runs off somewhere. "Oops." He mumbles, rubbing his neck. "We've got to go after her." "Why?!" "Well I don't know about you but I came from a place where if you do someone wrong ya make it right." He sighs. "You're right man." Just then a siren sounds. "Everyone report to your common rooms. There is a mountain troll loose in the school!" Mrs. McGonagall says over a loudspeaker. "Oh crap! Hermione is in the bathroom! We've got to help her!" Ron says running off. I follow him worried. I hope we get to her before the troll!
