Chapter 6

Alex placed her hands on Liam's and rocked slowly. Levi returned and smiled at the couple. "I can't believe my baby is having a baby." Alex hugged her father, "Dad...believe it." Levi hugged her tightly, "So...do you want a baby boy or girl? Or both?" Alex gasped, "Could I be pregnant with twins? Liam?" Liam grinned sheepishly, "Yeah it's quite possible. We won't know for at least two weeks though." Alex clutched her stomach, "I'm going to be sick." She raced down the hall, hands over her mouth. She had barely shut the door when she lost her smoothie. Liam knocked on the door, "Honey?" "I'm fine Liam. Go away please." Liam sighed and turned to Levi. Levi chuckled, "When Georgia was pregnant with Georgina, she was always throwing up and it killed me. Don't worry it will end soon." Liam nodded and Levi clapped Liam's shoulder. 4 hours later, Noah and his girlfriend, Emma, Georgina, her husband Lucas, Micah, Mia and Selina and her husband Ryan sat at the table eating when Liam stood. "So, Alex and I have to say something." Alex stood and smiled, "I got a promotion at work and...we're pregnant!" All the table gasped and started cheering. Alex and Liam sat and grinned. "When are you due?" Selina asked, Alex smiled at her older sister, "September 25. I'm five to six weeks pregnant now." Noah grinned, "Alex, you're pregnant before Selina and I! Man Liam, you beat us in the race huh?" Liam grinned, "Yup. Guess you're too slow for us huh Noah?" Alex laughed and winked at Emma. Noah grinned, 'Haha probably." He squeezed Emma's hand. Selina laughed, " Faster than Ryan and I. What's the morning sickness like?" Alex pursed her lips. "Dreadful. I think this is the worst part of the pregnancy. I'm in front of a toilet for hours in the morning." Georgina nodded, "With Micah, it wasn't that bad, but with Mia? It was living through hell for weeks. Alex moaned, "Please. I don't want to think about it. I have about a month left though, according to Liam and Mike." Selina raised an eyebrow, "Who's Mike?"

"My doctor. Apparently, a policy at the hospital is that if one spouse is the doctor, they cannot care for the their spouse as their personal doctor. So Liam got his good friend Mike Strong, to be my doctor. In reality though, they both are." Liam shrugged sheepishly and bit into a piece of fried chicken. Noah, Levi, Ryan and Lucas burst out laughing. "Don't let your boss find out." Georgia admonished. Liam nodded, "Mike won't let our boss find out...seeing how our boss is his brother." Alex gasped, "I had no idea! Who's his brother?" Liam shrugged, "Some guy named Dante." Alex choked, "Wait..do you mean Dante Strong? Caroline's boyfriend? Almost fiance?" Liam nodded, "I guess so." Levi chuckled, "Small world eh?" Alex shook her head in disbelief, "Extremely small world." When the family had eaten, Alex and Georgina carried little Micah and Mia to bed. Alex tucked in Mia and gave her a kiss. Georgina put her arm around Alex and hugged her. "You'll be a great mom Alexandra. I can see it already." Alex laid her head on Georgina's shoulder. "I'm so worried that it will be so much harder than I think it will." "What will be?" Georgina glanced at Alex, confused, "Having a baby?" Alex chuckled, "No, I already know that is hard. I meant being parents. We're so young. I'm only 21 and Liam is only 23. What is going to happen?" Georgina shrugged, "I don't know but you shouldn't worry about that now." Alex nodded "You're right. Thanks Georgina." Alex gently shut the door on the sleeping children and followed Georgina downstairs. Alex sat down and snuggled into Liam's arms. Selina grinned at the couple. "I can't believe you're pregnant Alex! I'm so happy for you guys!" Liam smiled, "Thanks Selina. That was Alex this morning. She could hardly believe it." Alex attempted a smile then yawned. "I'm sorry guys. I'm exhausted. I must not have slept good last night." Liam grinned, "No honey, that's the baby that's making you tired. Would you like to go home now? I'm sure they'll understand." Alex nodded sleepily. Liam stood and took Alex's hand. Georgia grinned, "You guys go home. Alex looks exhausted." Liam nodded and led Alex to the door. Alex yawned and put on her shoes. Half an hour later, Liam shut off the car and went to open Alex's door. She smiled sleepily at him and walked to the house, slipping off her shoes and going to their bathroom. Liam took off his shirt and went into his closet. When he returned, he saw Alex under the covers, sound asleep. He glanced at the clock, which read 8:15, and grinned. He slid his arm under her head and she turned to him, cuddling closer to Liam. He picked his phone and read for awhile. He closed his eyes and breathed in the scent of Alex's hair.

The next morning, Alex gulped and shoved Liam off her chest. He startled awake as Alex rushed to the bathroom. He followed, rubbing his eyes, the sunshine shining in the windows. He pulled Alex's hair into a messy bun and fanned her face. She groaned, "I have to wait awhile for my medication." Liam nodded, "I already knew that." He twirled a loose curl around his finger. Alex moaned and slumped to the floor. "How many more weeks of this torture?" She turned to Liam. Liam sighed, "I hate seeing you like this...about another month. So 4 weeks at least, 6 at most."

"How come I didn't feel this bad, before I found out I was pregnant?"

"For some women, morning sickness kicks in the middle of the second month or so." Alex moaned and leaned over the toilet. Liam went back to the bedroom and returned with a glass of water. "It's time for your medication. I checked the clock." Alex lifted her head and took the glass. It slipped through her limp fingers and fall to the floor, shattering to pieces. Alex glanced down and touched a piece gently. She looked at Liam, opening her mouth to say something, but her eyes rolled back and darkness descended.
