Lucas barged into the Seoul City Bakery with the police. The lot shoved many things around, knowing now that the victims were somewhere in the building. Many were being fought and held off by the one boy who usually sat behind the counter, soon followed by Youngchul, who returned from the Employees Only room.

He trailed off, maneuvering past a hustle of people and flying objects back into the room. Just behind the door started a spiraling stairwell of large metal stairs. Lucas walked down slowly, each step making a loud, echoing noise. He heard faint sobbing of some sort as he got further down.

Finally making to the last ten or so steps, it all became clear. There, in the middle of it all, was his love, bleeding and restrained, crying and scared. In that moment, he ran down the remaining stairs, standing in front of Jungwoo. He was rushed but happy, quickly untying his limbs and removing his gag.

Lucas made sure to hug him, checking every part of Jungwoo's body and recoiled at his findings. Once released, Jungwoo felt a weight being lifted from his shoulders. Although he was still awake, he collapsed forward out of exhaustion onto Lucas, who easily lifted him up.

Jaehyun, Hansol, and Kyungsoo all cheered, but still indicated that they anticipated their release as well.

Jungwoo was ecstatic. Lucas carried him up the stairs, the other three hesitantly following behind. In Lucas' arms, he turned his head and kissed him passionately with all the energy he had left.

Kicking open the door, the hustle outside stopped and everyone froze. In that vulnerability, Youngchul was tackled to the ground by officers and almost immediately restrained in handcuffs. Lucas, Jungwoo, Hansol, Jaehyun, and Kyungsoo walked past them, going out of the store in settling down on the closed-off road.

They were all beaten up, Jungwoo the most out of all of them. Once settled, he turned to Lucas, setting his fragile, wounded hands on either cheek and kissed him for as long as he could hold his breath for. Tears rolled down both of their faces as Lucas suddenly noticed his rapidly bleeding arm when he layed his own hand on it.

The loud sirens nearing were a given at this point, and Lucas was happy to know that Jungwoo was safe.

Each victim was loaded into his own ambulance, Lucas obviously riding with Jungwoo, holding his hand tightly the entire time. He would occasionally try and mumble things like, "I thought I was going to die without you," and "I love you so much," which all panged Lucas in the heart. Upon arriving at the Emergency Room, he was forced out as Jungwoo was now in for a mandatory surgery.

Lucas paced back and forth outside of the surgery room for hours. He had heard shouting when his lover had first gone it, most likely out of fear. However, he was never reassured before the surgery; he was never told the success rate, the time, or even what they were doing to Jungwoo.

But it all became clear when the red light flashed to green and the doors were opened by nurses, welcoming him in. The door creaked and opened slowly, revealing Jungwoo sleeping peacefully in white. It was a beautiful yet sad sight.

Lucas waltzed over, sitting down in a bedside chair and gripping Jungwoo's hand tightly, bringing it up to his lips. He couldn't help but notice the exaggerated amount of stitches on his face and who knows where else. There had to have been hundreds. There were cuts above his eye, under his lip, towards the top of his head, and on his neck from what Lucas could currently see.

He frowned, knowing how broken the boy was.

It's always us.

And it was. It was originally caused by Jungwoo's poor life decisions, but those were easily accepted. Now, it had to have been someone pulling strings.

Every time Jungwoo would shift or grunt, Lucas would look up hopefully, only to see that his love had yet to wake up. During that term, a young, lady nurse walked in quietly and stood at the foot of Jungwoo's hospital bed, asking Lucas questions.

"What's your relation to Mr. Kim?"

"Fiancée," said Lucas proudly.

She smiled. "Aw, cute! Congratulations! He should fully recover in about a month and a half, so I hope you won't have to delay your wedding for too long!"

Lucas returned the smile, muttering 'thank-you's as the nurse left the room. He looked back down at Jungwoo, taking in his soft and beautiful features. It's times like this when he remembers the moment he fell in love, as if he were doing it all over again.

He winced in surprise as the hand in his own twitched. He felt the grasp tighten and watched as Jungwoo's gorgeous little eyes opened, adjusting to the bright light. His teeth went to bite his sore, plump lips, making Lucas go crazy. He leaned forward, touching their foreheads together and kissing him ever-so-softly.

"I'm so sorry I let him get you..." Lucas began, tearing forming in his own eyes.

"Please don't cry...then I'll cry..."

Lucas exhaled in relief. "You have no idea how good it feels to hear your voice, no matter how hoarse."

Jungwoo smiled, quietly chuckling at his boyfriend. "Come here." He brought Lucas' head down onto his chest, just above his heart. "Do you hear that?"

Tears in his eyes, Lucas could only smile back.

"I love you so much, Xuxi."

"I love you more."

idk how many more chapters I'll do but I'd say to expect a minimum of 14 (which is essentially one more) and a maximum of 20.

Did you like this chapter? I had to experiment with some things, but it's what I've had in mind this whole time.
