Chapter 20 Vol.2

(Leah's POV)

I twisted my arm as I hissed from the pain. I huffed as I looked at Eri who's treating You.

"This are the side effects... "I said. "I know. "He uttered. I looked at the moon as the moon was having a color of blood.

"That's him... "I said. He sighed and stood up. "We should lock Mako... just in case... "he said.

I nodded and stood up, we heard breaking of stuffs as we widen our eyes and rushed going to Mako's room.

I kicked the door open and brought out my weapon. There we saw a red and black furred wolf. His purple eyes staring at us. He snarls and jump out of the window.

"Code red! "Eri yelled which woke the others up.

"What!? "Tsubasu came to us as Erenu and Riko called the others.

"Where do you think he'll go!? "Honoka asked.

"I don't know! "Eri shrugged

I looked at the moon and looked where the red was starting. "South. "I said they looked at me and nodded, we ran looking for him. "Nya! I think I have an idea where his going! "

"Where!? "I stopped as the others stopped. "You said south nya! That's where Nico lives."he said.

I suddenly thought of that, then ran going there.

(Nico's POV)

I woke up by the sound of whimpering and growling, I looked at my window and saw a big beast. I pulled my knife out of my drawer facing the wolf.

"S-stay back! "I said. Its eyes were purple as the wolf pouted. 'N-Nico... ' I heard a voice inside my head.

'It's m-me.. '

"Mako! "He sat showed himself from the light, his fur was red and black. I moved back in fear until my door slammed.

"Nico! "Eri tackled the wolf as I yelled. "Eri that's Mako! "

"I know! "He said Leah went infront of me and brought a sleeping sedative. "Stop! "

"Sorry Nico-chan. "She said then injected him. He whimpered as his eyes closed.

"Why did you do that!? "I screamed.

"Nico... that's... his not in his mind.. "Kanan said.

"He talked to me! "I yelled.

"Nico! "I looked at Tsubasu with fear. "You don't know everything yet... "he said.

"What! What don't I know!? "I retorted.

"His father wants him to be a king! And this are the side effects! "Leah yelled. I stopped as my world stopped too.

"What king? "I looked at Mako who is turning back to a human.

"A demon king... he didn't told you yet haven't you? "He asked.

I shook my head as Eri put him on my bed. "We'll stay downstairs, just give him a rest. "I nodded as they went down.
I sighed and looked at Mako, their were black line started to form on his face, I carrassed his hair and his face. "Mako... what's happening to you... "I mumbled.

I kissed his forehead and went out of the bed to get a shirt that he always leave in my house.

I put it on him, as I heard his soft snores. I giggled then went beside him.

I put the sheet over us and slept.

*time skip*

I woke up the sound of raffling, I looked beside me and saw purple eyes staring right thru my red eyes. "Hey.. "he smiled.
I smiled back and said. "Good morning. "
I noticed that the black lines disappeared.

"How'd I get here? "He asked. "You went here. "I said.

"Really? "He asked.

"Yeah. "He sighed and nuzzled my neck. "Nico-chan.... "

"I had a dream... "he said as I felt his breath on my neck. "What is it? "I asked.

"I disappeared from you... "he said with a sad tone.

I frowned as I spoke. "Mako-.. "

"I know... "he cut me off. "I know that you know... "I felt tears falling my eyes.

"M-Mako... "he looked at me and kissed my tears away. "Nico.. I won't let that happen. "He said.

"Promise.... "I whispered which he heard. "Promise. "

The door opened and a voice interrupted. "Ooh~ did I interrupt your make out session~? "Eri asked.

"B-baka! We didn't do anything! "He blushed then hid his face on the crook of my neck.

I faced Eri who was a teasing face and pointed my middle finger at him. I took a holy bible and threw it at him, he hissed then run outside.

(Mako's POV)

I feel my body so stiff and sore. Nico helped me to get up from bed and go downstairs. Everyone was there except for You, Yoshiku, and Uhyou.

"Hey..."everyone looked at me as they ran towards me tackling me with hugs."you bastard we thought we lost you!"Tsubasu said and tightened the hug.

Everyone gave comments as I deadpanned. I sighed and hug them back.

*Time skip*

Everyone told me what happened."your body..started to form, you were like your father but more crazier than him."Kanan said then chuckled.

Nico was beside me."did you remember something?"she asked.

"I...."everything that happened flashed back my mind, I knitted my brows to ease the pain."I....only remembered few.."I said.

"Like what nya?"Ren asked.

"When I closed my eyes everything turned black...and I just kept running..then suddenly I was fighting someone...but I can't see it's face...like I was fighting a wind or the sounds that where fighting...I also feel how it hits me..."

"Mako...do you think this are the side effects?"Leah asked.

"I don't know...but...if ever that happened...lock me underground and chain me up...if ever I begged, don't let me out."

"A-are you serious Mako?!"Nico asked.

"It's for the best Nico."I said with calm voice.

"No it's not!"Nico stood up."you might...get hurt..."she said.

"No I won't Nico."I said making things clear.

"Yes I know that Nico!"everyone was silent. I heard sobbings as I looked at Nico.

"Y-you... said.. to m-me 4 y-years... a-a go... "I frowned as I remember my promise that I won't leave her alone.

"N-Nico.... "she looked away from me as I sighed, I put my hands on her shoulders and hugged her.

"Nico.... I won't leave you... "I said."l-let go of me Mako... "

"I might hurt everyone... even you... "I mumbled the last part which she heard. She stopped crying as she hugged back and his her face on my neck.

I can feel something wet because of her tears.

She pulled the hem of my shirt as I looked at her. She has this pouty face and her face was blushing. I smiled then Keane close to her giving her a kiss on the lips. Everyone gasped.

I pulled away as she looked at me with eyes widened.

"I'm sorry everyone if I'm - am I interrupting? "We looked at the person and shouted.
