We Tried The Best That We Could

When everything that is bad has been destroyed, remember that there will always be something good that has been killed and is fading away, but will always be remembered.

A Journeys End

Tord's P.O.V

     After a few days of us avoiding the girls and the girls avoiding us, I decided it was time to leave this place. I approached the other three and told them about leaving, Tom and Matt agreed, but Edd refused to leave Ell in the state that she was in. 

     When Edd wouldn't agree with us I promised him that Ell would be ok and that I was going to make Matilda return and possibly her old cat so that both Tamara and Ell could be happy.

     It took a little bit of convincing but after a while, he reluctantly agreed with us. I knew we had to tell the girls about it so that one day when they actually decide to talk to us, they don't see us missing without knowing where we went or if we would come back.

"Ok guys, this is the last time for us to be here, so gather everything and kiss most things goodbye." I opened the front door and stepped out, "Whoever wants to say goodbye to the girls, come with me." We walked down to their house and knocked on their door, Tori answered.

"Oh, hello Tord . . . and you three, what is it that you want." Tori had bags underneath her eyes and she seemed to not smirk anymore.

"We plan on leaving this place, we need to get home, we have a place where we normally stay," I said with my head down in hopes not to cause more pain. There was a moment of silence before she spoke again.

"Take me with you." All four of us paused, I knew they would probably have trouble with us leaving, but I never thought that one of them would want to leave with us. 

"Um, I don't think I can do tha-"

"Please." There was complete silence. 

"Look, we need to say bye to the rest before it turns to night, please let us through." Tori looked down but she moved to the side. We walked passed her and continued into the house. Ell was on her bed with her new cat and Tamara was sitting at the end watching her.

"Uh, hello." Both of the girls turned to look at me, "Um, this might be the last time that you girls get to see us because we are leaving."

"Oh no, don't tell me this is my fault!" Tamara said as she suddenly got up.

"Um, no it isn't, we just decided it was best if we did, we also have our own place that we live, we just want to go back."

"I understand," Ell said as she faced us. We all gathered around and hugged each other and said our goodbyes. We exited the house and went outside to an open field.

"Hey, Tord?" Tom said.

"Yeah, what is it?"

"Do you even know how to leave,  if you knew, we wouldv'e left earlier."

"I . . . I'll try." The girls gathered around us and watched. I looked up to the sky and a black hole appeared. "Um . . . we would like to leave, but we don't know how." Randomly words started to appear in the sky: There is only one way that you could leave, that is if the person who brought you there was satisfied with the place and had a heart. The heart had to be kind and caring. They would've had to have felt, cared for.

Everyone looked at me.

"So . . . Tord, are you satisfied with the place?" Tom said

"If by satisfied it means wanting to live on earth now then yes."

"What about feeling cared for?" Tori asked

"Well . . ." I looked over at Tom, then at Tori, "Yes."

"Then make us leave!" Matt said joining in on the conversation.

The hole in the sky became white and it started to glow, it started to burn my eyes and I knew we would be home soon, before all of my vision had turned to complete white I yelled out something, "I promise I will be back, and I will bring you guys with me back to earth, see you soon and don't forget us." Just before we disappeared I had just enough time to see their faces. Pure Joy.

When all light had gained color and our vision was back to normal, we all looked around. "We're home!" I yelled out. I heard cheers behind me and I turned around. Matt, Edd, and Tom were all behind me. I looked around for a bit and then turned to the three. "So what now?"

"Let's not talk about this ever again unless we need to, but lets not ever forget this," Edd said. We all went to our rooms and soon enough everything was back to normal, it was as if nothing had happened.

The only thing that was different was that Tom and I got along better and we knew not to get Tom angry or make any of us in danger or else he would turn into a monster.
