Chapter 16 The Old Ring on a New Hand

Andrew: "I am really sorry I could not recognize you at first from a distance"

Abby: "hahah oh it's ok"

Andrew: "No really I am embarrassed about that"

Abby: "Oh no need to be embarrassed about that, come on we all face these types of situations at some point in our life"

Andrew: "haha yea you are right, by the way I kind of got distracted"

Abby: "Distracted! By who?

Andrew: "by your stunning looking personality that can indeed leave anyone breathless"

Abby: "well thank you, for such an exaggerated thought about me, but what you have is something that any human being would want to have, a pure heart" (blushing)

Andrew: "I just say what my heart tells me to say, and sometimes I also follow the decisions that it helps me to take, just like this one"

Abby: "Blessed be your heart for making a decision that can help a mother in desperate need to save her only child."

Andrew: "Well I could not have refused to do that so, and after we get married you will be having another son as well"

Abby: "Oh yea, your son, Walle, where is he?"

Andrew: "oh about him I was going to bring him in but after I got your present I thought that it would be a shock more than a surprise to him for this sudden change of events, so it is better to tell him later when the time will be right."

Abby: "Well as long as this decision looks right to you, I will stand by it"

Andrew: "I know, you will and you always have been supportive to me ever since Alison's gone I met many different people in life, no body tried to help us in any sort of way, then you came in or life and give us that hope that there are good people in this world."

Abby: "Allison was the luckiest women to have you, she left this world in peace as she knew she was leaving her small family to a strong and supportive man. That will never let done his own self and his son."

Andrew: "I am not that strong as I look, I have been broken by this world many time, it's you that actually suffered the true pain and harsh reality of this world and yet you are here smiling like nothing ever happened and all I ask from you is will you make me a better human being than a man who can learn to smile at the world that stabbed him and till he embrace it and hope that things will change one day, just like this day, "As I ask you will you marry me?"

Abby: "I once fall in love with someone I blindly trusted and then it made me to hate men ever since, but then you came in my life and changed the definition of true man that do exist for me now, and in answer all I have to say is "yes! I will".

Author's point of view

To make it look official it all happened in that restaurant, the lively audience spectated the couple, as Andrew got on to his knees and takes out the ring that once belonged to Alison and slowly pushes it back onto Abby's finger, were it fits as it was actually meant for the hand with exact same size, a perfect match that luck brought together, with a slowly rising echo of applause in the red and gold dusty background complimenting this situation, the sweet symphony by Beethoven being played by the orchestra brought a perfect end to this evening.

As this happy couple make their way out of the restaurant, Walle was standing right in front of them, give a death stare to this picture of perfidy that was making his world go all grey all of a sudden. Andrew was shell shocked to see him there, he could not come up with anything what to say to him, he could not stare into his eyes to prove what he was doing here, As Abby never met Walle before, and she could not recognize him at first and just could not figure that why suddenly Andrew started acting so weirdly.

Andrew: "Wal...le! What...t you are doing here?" (Stammering)

Walle: "I don't know, maybe I thought this was a hospital"

Andrew: "Look Walle no! I can explain"

Walle: "no dad, I have seen enough I don't want any explanation now, the reason you don't want me here is quite clear now"

Abby: "Walle listen! Please let your father explain"

Walle: and who are you to tell me that, you can never compare yourself with my mother, and that ring you are wearing that is my mother's and I want it back right now." (Livid)

Andrew: "Walle I was going to tell you about this, but it was not the right time"

Walle: "It was not the right time dad! Right time for what? For ruining our family, that's not what mom told you to do, and you betrayed us"

Andrew: "son I can understand your pain but it's all too early for you to know about this and I am sorry this happened to you, but please try to understand"

Walle: "no dad you can never understand my pain, you want to live your life you can live it your way and erase me from it, I am going" (weeping)

Walle walk away from this conversation while Andrew started to shout out his name and trying to stop him from going away without hearing him. But he could not. Andrew was stressing out and thinking what to do now, how is he going to make up to this problem, As Abby comforted him and told Andrew that he will be fine, he just need some time. She told him that sooner or later he had to know about it, this had to come, but this was not the way that anybody would prefer to unveil such a relationship. As Andrew parted from that place he apologize for whatever happened over there with Abby and Walle and go after Walle.

Meanwhile Walle drove through the town like a maniac, tears streaming down of his face, he got home in real time and rushed to his room, he had a big carrying bag he packed his stuff and cloths and left the house, leaving Mrs. McLaren in questions.

Andrew got there late and as he entered the house he find Mr. and Mrs. McLaren setting in the drawing room in such a tensed state of mind, Andrew asked them what had happened and where is Walle, but then Mr. McLaren intruded in between and then asked him the same question. Andrew was not in the position of answering any question. He asked for pardon and want them just to tell where Walle is. Mr. McLaren fine this situation no the right time to make any questioner, so he told Andrew what had happened, that Walle left the house with his stuff. This was the worst nightmare that Andrew could ever imagine of. He rushed out to find him, be called on his phone but it was powered off and could not be reached. He spent his whole night in search of him. It was defiantly a hard time on him, life was testing him once again.
