Mia sat sulking on the chair in Costa, watching as Jack and Brooke flicked through the magazine together whilst they waited for Katy and Noah. She was feeling a bit down from her conversation with Seb yesterday, they literally hadn't manage to resolve any of their issues. In fact their talk had only seemed to add more fuel to the fire.
Brooke and Jack had been in a world of their own all morning. After a long night of love making and having made plans to go and visit Jack's grandparents again, the two of them were practically lighting up the room with their smiles. Mia had definitely noticed their inability to keep their hands off of one another.
Katy and Noah turned in to the coffee shop's entrance, with Noah heading straight over to the counter to get two lattes to take away, whilst Katy sauntered over to the rest of the group.
"You guys alright? You're actually early? What happened?" Katy questioned, figuring that something must have happened to actually get Brooke's and Jack's ass' into gear. She couldn't really blame Mia, it's not like she would have actually slept or anything.
Brooke cast a glare at Mia who proceeded to shrug her shoulders, casting her eyes back down at her empty coffee cup. "Well, someone decided that it was time for us to leave the house. Over an hour early..."
"Maybe that's because someone was fed up of hearing you two go at it like rabbits all through the night. By round five I was seriously considering cutting off my ears, rinsing my eyeballs, and purposefully blocking my nose because, Lord knows, I could tell you almost every detail of their rendezvous." Mia countered.
"Maybe you should move out then." Brooke replied instantly, not even considering the weight of her words. She knew full well that Mia wouldn't be staying with her and Jack if she really didn't have anywhere else to go. Since her and Seb had split, Mia had been stuck in the same place, trying to find an apartment that was actually affordable, not to mention dog friendly.
"Low blow, Brooke."
Looking around at the rest of the group, Brooke could tell that she'd messed up. Feeling exceptionally guilty, she apologised, earning her yet another shrug of the shoulders from Mia. It was Mia who then proceeded to suggest that they get on with shopping so that they could get away from town before it started to get too busy. But, for Mia, it was more so that she didn't spend the time thinking about Seb.
They walked together, with Brooke and Jack at the front, and then Katy, Noah, and Mia trailing closely behind them. There was a few shops that they'd definitely go in, but the girls had already planned out where to go, and in what order - Katy's organisational skills had truly came in handy for the most peculiar of things.
One of the first places of interest was 'Ann Summers' - somehow the girls always managed to end up in the shop, the guys usually encouraging the girls to spend as much as they want as it was for their benefit more so than anyone else's, although Brooke did argue that wearing lingerie made her feel somewhat empowered.
The girls came together comparing colours, sizes, materials, styles, and fits until they each found a set for themselves. Brooke went for a Christmas, fancy dress set - it was like a bow, with red and white striped stockings to match it. She knew instantly that Jack would absolutely love it. Katy chose a purple lace set in the end, having argued with Brooke over trying something new. Despite Mia's disinterest in the shop, the girls had managed to convince her to get a new white corset and suspender set.
It was around that time that Seb joined the group, watching as Mia's latest set was packed in to the bag. Katy, Brooke and the lads had invited him along, knowing full well that the temporarily split couple would feel better for the other one being there. Seb couldn't help but imagine Mia in the set, tending to his every desire as she had in the past. The thoughts alone were dangerous, but the sultry look that Mia gave him when she caught him eyeing it up could have made him drop to his knees.
They didn't speak, but they didn't really need to either. They'd said enough last night.
The other two couples elected to go to Waterstones, Primark, and then WHSmith, before they'd go and grab something to eat.
All of them managed to find things in the shops, be it Christmas presents, an outfit, or something that they'd been needing for a while now. The boys actually ended up being surprisingly successful as they all took sneaky notes for one another as to what the girls liked so that they could come and get the books at a later date.
It didn't take long for the bags to mount up as the wallets got progressively more empty. The group was clearly divided but they still managed to have a bit of a laugh and get along well enough for it to not be awkward.
They'd just decided to have a break, and were currently finding out about Brooke's most recent shift as a Lifeguard - it was always worth a laugh.
"...And then, she was like, "But I just want the pineapple. Is that too much to ask?" And I was wetting myself, I swear."
"But I don't get it. Why did she need pineapple on poolside?"
"Beats me, Seb. It's like the idea of putting pineapple on pizza, why are some people so against it? The original pizza has pineapple on it. They're just a weird breed."
"That's exactly what I say!!"
"I mean, as if we can talk about being weird though." Katy began, letting out a small chuckle as the group turned to her. "We're literally sat on the floor in the town centre, eating a Greggs..."
"Hey!" Brooke exclaimed, snuggling closer into the crook of Jack's arm.
"Isn't that what shopping trips are all about?"
