Prologue

Clara's P.O.V.

"Come on Clara!" my mom called. "The limo is waiting!"

I brushed my hair a few more times and I dusted my black skirt.

I scurried down the long marble staircase.

"It's a new school year, yay!" I said sarcastically.

"Oh, chin up dear!" My mom pleaded. "You have to smile, project confidence! You are eighteen after all!"

"Mom, no." I corrected. "I'm seventeen, almost eighteen"

"Oh, Just Smile!" Dad patted my back. "Aren't you excited to see you're friends?"

"Yeah... I guess." I said, sighing.

the limo pulled up.

"Thank you Mr. Rubin." I smiled, clutching my backpack.

They waved and I waved back.

I sighed as I entered the refurnished, redecorated and repainted school.

"Good morning!" My clique, The Gemstones greeted me as I walked in.

"Good morning!" I smiled.

I saw a new girl enter the school.

Well, this is gonna be interesting.
