Chapter 5: Alone
Clara's P.O.V.
My dad opened the huge doors.
The maids were lined up in their maid's costumes.
"Good morning Amelia and Mr. Peter Von Pelt!" They said simultaneously.
I asked them personally to call me any of my names, except for my last name.
I said hi to all of them, one by one, I remembered all of their names.
My dad however was busy talking on his phone.
*sigh*
Well, at least he's not like those billionaires who never have time to go home.
My mom was standing on the edge of the lengthy line.
"Come come! We have much to talk about." Mom ushered us to the cinema room.
We took our seats near the big screen.
My mom pressed some buttons on the remote.
And the credits in 'Divergent' started showing.
"Whoops! Wrong button!" She apologized.
Mom started pressing another button.
A video started playing.
(Italics = what the video is saying)
Mabuhay!
Hi Amelia Rose!
I'm Maria Julianna Dela Cruz.
Happy Birthday!
I hope you'll like it here in the Philippines! The girl in the video said.
Hoy! Julia! Bilisan mo na! Someone from behind Julianna called.
Opo! Andali lang! Julianna called back.
Sorry, gotta go, bye!
Then the screen went blank.
"So, I'm going to the Philippines for my birthday?" I asked.
"Yes!" They said in chorus.
"Why the Philippines?" I wondered.
"Because, it's almost on the other side of the world!" Dad explained. "And you're bringing your hole batch there!"
"What?!" I gasped. "The hole batch... On a p-plane to the Phi-Philippines?"
"Yes, and the private planes will take us all there!" Mom exclaimed. "Aren't you excited?"
"Me? Excited? Of course I am!" I said sarcastically.
"Good, now we already told your school principal, and she agreed!" Mom said, unaware of the sarcasm. "But you have to choose those on the same jet with you, and the same tour with you, we can't bring everyone to the same place because they'll be too much."
"Okay, I'll give you the list of cliques... Tomorrow." I finally gave in.
Well at least they won't suspect me in separate groups.
My tummy growled.
"Let's eat?" I invited everyone. "My tummy needs to munch food now."
We all walked to the dining room and ate while watching 'Les Miserables' using the projector.
I cried, again!
It seriously never fails to make me cry, even if I watched it a billion times!
*spoiler alert*
Specially in that part where Eponine cries (and sings) in the rain, my soup must have been filled with tears.
I also forgot to mention I usually cry in those movie scenes with sad songs playing while the person is sulking or crying.
I seriously gave it a standing ovation which made my parents drop what they were currently holding to look at me with a weird look.
"What? You can clap for operas right? You even clap after a you finish a shoot of some kind, this isn't anything different from those two scenarios!" I exclaimed.
After I said that, they just picked up whatever they dropped and started eating again.
"Thank you." I sat down.
After dinner, I decided to go to the bathroom.
When I was half way out of the dining room door, my dad asked me: "Where do you think you're going?"
"Uhm to the bathroom." I explained.
"What will you do there hmm?" He pressed.
"To wash." I said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Because it is.... I guess.....
He clapped his hands twice and a maid came, running.
"Haven Clein, please escort my daughter to the bathroom." He commanded.
"Yes, sir." She nodded. "Amelia, please come!"
*sigh* I said deeply.
I walked to Haven and signaled her to start walking.
"Haven, you don't have to do this, I can walk on my own!" I whined.
"I'm sorry Ms. Amelia, your father's orders!" She continued walking.
She grabbed my towel and handed it to me.
"Ugh!!" I screamed, irritated, but I still got the towel.
"We're here!" She said cheerfully.
"No we're not, we're near the elevator!" I complained.
Oh what am I saying? Couldn't I just tell her to leave me?
*Bonk* I bonked myself on the head.
"Tut tut, you can walk on your own right? Be careful what you wish for!" She smirked.
I gave myself a smile on the inside but gave a poker face on the outside.
Haven walked away, and I pressed the up button on the elevator, and when the door opened I walked inside.
Bearing my towel on the other hand, I pressed 2⃣ on the elevator.
And there, outside the bathroom door, a butler and a maid.
The maid signaled me to follow her.
I just sighed and followed her obediently.
If politely asking won't work, I bet forceful commanding will.
"I, Clarabelle Catherine April Amelia Von Pelt, hereby command you, Annabeth Rea Donaldo, to leave me and the bathroom alone, you too, Alfonso Claro Verdon." I commanded.
They both flinched at the mention of their names.
"Yes, ma'am!" They both answered.
"Thank you!" I smiled.
Finally, some alone time.

Author's Note:
I decided to cut it short, because I just felt like it was getting long so... Yeah thanks!
Oh yeah, and also I chose the Philippines because I felt like I wanted her to speak a different language, and be able to speak fluently.... So yeah, please don't hate me because I didn't choose a different country. I also didn't want France because I can speak French, but only the basics, so yeah.
