Percy POV
He stormed down to the docks where the water was gently brushing the golden sand. His thoughts moved quickly all merging into a single concentrated anger. He moved away from the sea, making his way to an area that was close to here but was hidden from mortals eyes. In his own mind he was cussing like a sailor. He was so deeply entranced in his own mind that he completely missed his mortal enemy. Not like his completely evil most worst enemy. It was literally just a non demigod enemy. He smirked and punched him in the shoulder. With lightning speed he brought up his hand and grasped the bully's wrist. He looked into the bully's eyes and forced power into his words that were coated with all his current anger. "Leave me alone. I will deal with you on Monday" he decided to add "punk" on the end to make it seem like a threat that he would chase up in the end. The only thing that stopped him from bringing out riptide was the thought that he would be seeing Annabeth tomorrow. It was his only firm thought. The bully seemed to get the gist and smugly sauntered down a nearby alleyway.
He sighed. Glad to be alone once again. He thought of his mom and how happy she clearly was with Paul. Rage only grew higher and higher in him the water lifting him into the air. With the first touch he felt powerful the water curled around his ankles, dark water reflecting his emotions whipping around him making curves and minature hurricanes. The power made him feel good. Made him feel like he wasn't completely hopeless.
He felt his power draining slowly but then he heard a noise a noise not created by the swirling water. A mortal person! Fear flashed through the water. The adrenaline ended leaving him completely depleted. His vision started blurring. Then he fell. The last thing he remembered was smashing into the water which didn't hurt or winded as he sunk in the clear water.
The mortal POV
She saw the boy falling then smashing into the clear water. The boy sank motionless into the water. Without a second thought she reached into her coat pocket and yelled in the hope of anyone hearing her voice. A middle aged man came round the corner. "What's going on?" Without a second thought she pointed and they both rushed to the edge of the water. He didn't hesitate to slip into the cold water and reach for the pale boy. The emergency services were on their way. He would survive. Would he?Percy POV
He heard sirens. People were holding him with his head below his chest. Memories came flooding back. The mortal. The fall. The water. And Paul. He chose to keep his eyes closed. Water was in his lungs. It didn't affect him at all but the paramedics he could hear, thought he was suffocating. He felt them lying him on the concrete. A mask was pushed on his face with cool air blowing on his face. People were frantically rushing around him. Shouting and slipping him onto a gurney. They were taking him away. He tried to look like he had just woken up.His eyes fluttered open and caught the eyes of the woman pushing the gurney and holding his limp hand. She looked at him with kind but concerned eyes. To make it not seem weird that he was fine with water in his lungs he devised a plan. The gurney was pushed up the ramp. His head pounded from the over use of his powers. What would he tell his mom? Mist covered his chest. For him it flickered from being completely normal to being purple and extremely bruised. That must be what the paramedics were seeing.
He began to put his plan into place as soon as they closed the ambulance doors. The woman was still here murmuring and muttering as she checked his vitals. She took her stethoscope and told him to take a deep breath in. This was the time. He ordered the huge quantity of water to come out of his lungs. As it reached the back of his throat he gagged. This gave the woman a few seconds of warning to grab one of those cardboard bowls for him to expel the water into. He threw up for at least fifteen minutes straight before he stopped. The water was gone but that caused him to cough as his lungs struggled to take in air as it had been taking in water before. The woman got the point and pressed the oxygen mask back onto his face. Unluckily she had managed to slip stuff into the mask as he felt his eyelids getting heavier. He squirmed determined to stay awake but the woman just used this as an excuse to use a sedative. She slipping it into his arm he controlled the liquid and forced it to create a small pocket unseeable in his arm. The woman looked confused so he stopped fighting to stay awake and blacked out.
Paul POV
"Paul could you grab the phone for me it's probably about the book thingy I was working on doing," Sally shouted through the kitchen. "Sure Sally," he replied. The phone stopped buzzing instantly as he lifted it up. "Hello, who is this we need to speak with Sally Jackson," he thought about replying and then said "I'm her fiancé can I take the message?" The caller paused then continued "this is concerning Percy Jackson, he is currently in hospital after an accident at the docks where he was seemed to have been pushed out of a window seven metres above the water. He has no life threatening injuries but he is badly bruised from the waters impact. We recommend that you visit him as he is struggling." He stared off into the distance processing the information. Realising he hadn't replied he answered with "Okay we will head down now, thank you." Sally was now in the room as he placed down the phone. "It's Percy he has had an accident," her face went pale, "it was a fall onto water." Her face strangely seemed to relax as if she was fine with the situation. "Okay," Sally said, "let's go then!"
