"Okay" said Henry accepting immediately making it clear that because he was taller than him he believed that he was automatically better than him. He knew that Henry was far less muscular but had more leg power but he had the the will of the water and a father who is secretly controlling huge amounts of the  earth. They prepared to go using lane 1 and 2. He was ready to jump in but then Henry stopped him, "under one condition Jackson," he looked at the taller boy to show he was listening, "you swim without the tshirt." When he said that the entire poolside went silent. He never swam at school without a tshirt he had to many insecurities etched there. Zoë, Bianca and many others. He started shaking afraid of what they would say now the poolside stands were filling to see a really popular boy go against a freak. He tugged the hem of his tshirt and pulled it off, many people gasped seeing lots of small white scars, an asterisk shaped scar, a ropey scar on his shoulder and many new deep cuts from sword mishaps. "Www..wha..what happened to you Percy?" Henry said his voice clearly concerned. "None of your business, I might tell you one day but I'm sorry today is not that day."

They silently got into the pool, he felt the water responding as he breathed properly even as he was at the bottom of the pool his deep cuts on his sides began to heal leaving white scars against his tanned body. He got ready and as soon as they were set off he was gone like a shot. He reached the end winning and cutting off 5 seconds from his previous time. Everyone was awestruck. Alfie who was timing looked at him "Percy this is half a second off the world record do you understand what this means, if you trained hard enough you could go to the Olympics!" Henry clued out the pool, "I'm sorry dude, for being so rude I honestly was being a bit full of myself for getting team captain. Hey where have your cuts gone they have become scars! What's going on?" He shrugged at Henry and told him he would see them at practice. The stands emptied and he was left alone with his thoughts. He sat relaxing with his feet in the pool as people left looking how his body had changed since he had become a demigod. He was now extremely well built, slimmer, more confident but the scars, they were large reminders. Most faded over time but since he fought monsters so often the scars were white and prominent on his tanned back. The pool was empty so he slid into the pool undaunted by the thought of staying that long underwater like it had used to frighten him. The water was cool and most surprisingly silent. The water was normally filled with echos only he could normally hear. He longed to see Tyson, his father or even Mrs O'Leary his hellhound.

He was drifting to sleep when he heard a crash of someone entering the water. The person dived down to him grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and dragged him to the surface. The man spluttered and looked at him in confusion. The man was around 20 years old had average brown hair and blue-ish eyes. "How are you still aliv- wait you're dry- you're a son of Poseidon?" He nodded slowly, "how do you know?" He asked the man cautiously. "I'm a son of Hermes, you're lucky one of the other cleaners didn't spot you!" He nodded and laughed with the cleaner. He touched the cleaners hand and to the man's surprised his sopping wet clothes dried in seconds leaving him stood d awestruck. "I wondered who was killing all the monsters" He said surprised. He looked at the cleaner "yeah that was me with Riptide." He fangirled over riptide and then went back to his cleaning telling him to call for Andrew if he ever needed help with: mist, monsters or teachers.
