He got home with everything flying through his head and several people worrying about how tense he was. What he really needed was a good training session with someone similar to his ability but alas that nobody existed unless he wanted to find Luke and say 'hey want spar but with now killing blows?' Yep not gonna happen.
So now here he was taking out his anger and confusion on his bean bag that kept smacking the wall with satisfying thumps. Someone coughed behind him and he whipped around eyes blazing a stormy grey. The rainbow image of Annabeth levitated in front of him. His rage dissolved and he looked at her in disappointment that she had caught him like this. She had never seen him like this and she appeared shocked and before she could start he slumped back into his bed and wouldn't face her.
"I'm sorry... I'm... I'm sorry Annabeth. You deserve better. I have been a bad friend. I don't know if I'm going to come to camp this summer. I don't know anymore."
She sat astounded by the seemingly tough demigod dissolve into emotion before her very eyes. It surprised her that he was so tense what would she do? He sat facing the wall as she was desperate to reach through the message and hug him.
"Please come to camp Percy" She pleaded. "You have done nothing to disappoint me. That I know of anyway. I don't know what I would do without you."
He turned around teary eyed and whispered softly, "thanks wisegirl."
"Anytime seaweed brain."
The iris message ended leaving him wondering the reason for her call. Curling up on his bed he slept as though he hadn't in years.

<Monday morning>
He arrived at school with Paul and was determined to impress the swim team after being dismissed early. He walked through reception waiting as Paul signed himself in and with he was staring at his sneakers.
"Percy? Could I speak to you for a second..."
He turned around to see the principal, deep down he prayed that he wasn't getting suspended or worse expelled!
"Follow me," he said and briskly walked away leaving him to break into a slight jog to catch up.
"Sir what do you need of me?"
"We have a new student and Paul said you would like to help" he looked at the principal astounded he had not said anything along those lines. But he just nodded trusting what Paul had set him up with.
They walked into his office only for him to see a very familiar mop of blonde hair.
"Annabeth?!" He said incredulously, "what are you doing here?" He was beyond astounded, had he really been that out of it the other day, had she been in a different room? He couldn't remember but before he knew it Annabeth grinned and lightly punched his arm.
"I enrolled into school just like you suggested seaweed brain, I thought it would be a nice surprise" she chuckled and pulled him into a small hug whilst he stood there with a dumb confused look on his face.
"Percy do you think you can handle this job? Showing this new student around?" Paul asked smiling at the two and how they reunited.
"Of course sir- that will not be a problem sir." He answered instantly, "come on wisegirl let's show you around" she smiled to him and he smiled back happy to have her here. She was his best friend and everything seemed to be okay, like that was all he really needed.
Together they walked along the halls to find Annabeth's locker, it was middle floor and inside were just some old papers that they quickly discarded. She put in the spare books she had as they sorted out her timetable. They looked to see the classes, they shared English with Paul, had different math and P.E but everything else was the same. Because they were both smart and Annabeth needed someone to follow so she could properly settle in.
The bell rang for class, first period, they both headed off for Paul's class, they sat down and Annabeth sat in the empty seat next to him. Nobody currently sat next to him because at first everyone was scared of him when they chose the seats. And now it was girls who wanted to sit next to him after seeing how muscular he was. But to be fair he wanted noticing to do with them, they had made fun of him before this so why would anything change between them now. Deep down he knew that he only had eyes for Annabeth because she was his best friend and the only one who truly understood him. But the thing is Annabeth probably had eyes for someone else, she was pretty and smart and- well why wouldn't she. Thinking about this Percy's heart sank he was too problematic for Annabeth...
