Yukana Akiyama is a 16 year old who lives in Kanto, Japan. One day, she discovers a notebook with the power to resurrect the dead. Yukana becomes involved with Light Yagami and the Death Note as the Kira of Life.

Just to be certain, Yukana decided to test the Life Note. She tests it out on her sister, Seikatsu, who was stillborn. So she wrote her first name and last name. What Yukana didn't understand was the danger of changing time. She looked around for her mom and dad and found them downstairs- they had a happier air to them. They looked at Yukana. "Are you okay, Yukana?" Seikatsu asked her. She smiled and said, "Yeah."
She just couldn't believe her little sister was alive. Seikatsu looked at her older sister. "Ane-chan?"she said. Yukana looked at her with tears in her eyes. Yukana ran to her and hugged her and Seikatsu looked at her funny. "Ane-chan? Are you alright?" she asked. And then- the realization: she had changed the world, time, existence, history, just by reviving her sister. One little thing changed everything. Yukana knows enough from time-travel stories to understand its consequences; but how strong a thing temptation is. Yukana realized that she was the only one that would remember the old world. She was overwhelmed with horror at what she had done; but then again, her sister was alive! In a new world... she has memories from both worlds now... suddenly Yukana became dizzy and passed out. "YUKANA!!" her screams as her dad picks her up and the family takes her to her room.
Time skip- a few hours later
Yukana wakes up in her room with her sister next to her. She was looking at her with fear. "What is wrong with you?" she asks warily.
