It was midnight. There was silence except the slight rustle of the branches of the trees in the cold November air. Everything was orderly - proper - as it was meant to be.
Then, a blur of back streaked through the forest, disrupting the stillness and beauty. It repaved the ground with tracks of its own, all one straight smudge across the ground. The blur zig-zagged it's way through the forest, over shrubbery and vining around the trees and skipping over the tiny streams. The thick, prickly, elongated brambles snagged at their clothes like a cat clawing a curtain and thorns and weeds that littered the forest floor had been dragged completely out by the roots and discarded as the blur whooshed past.
Until everything stopped. It was as if the world had slowed and everything was suspended in mid air. The blur of black idly stayed in one spot, just long enough for some distinct features to be seen. Strikingly beautiful auburn hair cascaded down a porcelain white body hidden with a black cloak. It had lips as dark as aged wine and two eyes that glowed a lurid red colour. The figure slowly walked to a tall tree. They grabbed onto one of the thick, low branches, displaying a set of 5 sharp pointed nails that embedded themselves into the wood.
Pushing down on the branch they hurtled themselves up to the top of the enormous tree and balanced their weight onto a small, puny twig. Looking out towards the distance there was a large mansion that seemed to be hidden from view. There were small snakes of smoke coming from several places and there seemed to be two, or three windows that held a dim yellow glow. Their lips turned into a grin as the figure leap down from the tree.
"It seems the Phantomhive manor shall be getting a visitor tonight." And with that they once again became a blur of darkness speeding off in the direction of the mansion.
