Heh, I'm really enjoying writing this book, so I'm gonna try to update at least once a week or every other week, depends on how busy I am.

IMPORTANT: I've come to the realization that I forgot to mention the fact that this AU is set in a modern fantasy world, meaning monsters and creatures of many different origins can and will show up. So stuff like chupacabra, ogres, ghouls, Mongolian death worms *wheeze*, might make appearances (not saying they will; just.. Be prepared for that).

oOo

Astrid's POV:

It was as we neared the city that I saw the smoke. A huge, factory building was up in flames, the spiralling towers of fire spinning and twisting unnaturally so.

Hiccup swore heavily under his breath, telling 2thless to speed up towards the flaming mass.

Leaping off of Hiccup's shoulder I landed neatly atop Stormfly2's back. I shifted into my human form, shooting Hiccup an uneasy look.

"What's happening?" I yelled over the rushing wind, it's cool touch making its way into my skin through the suit I was wearing.

"Dragon Hunters." Hiccup stated simply, his eyes trained on the buildings rapidly passing us by. "They've become more active lately, especially so after we rescued you from the Traffickers."

I went silent for a moment, I could clearly remember the all the days counting up to the night I was rescued, but I couldn't actually remember anything after that, all I could find when scouring through my memories was the sound of wails and screams, then a sudden crash and complete darkness.

Hiccup, as if sensing my confusion looked over at me, his eyes glazing over.

They drugged you.

A voice, sounding astonishingly like Hiccup echoed through my head.

"What?" I said out loud, looking over to Hiccup to find him staring back at the flaming building now only a block or two ahead of us, his eyes no longer glazed.

I'll explain later, for now let's deal with this.

"Ok.." I mumbled, feeling my animal instincts beginning to kick in as we neared the pyre. Frustrated yelling and the wailing of citizens entered my ears much before they met Hiccup's, the tips of them twitched and I instinctively began to shift parts of my body to adapt to the heat emanating off of the burning building. The suit, to my amazement grew and adapted with me. It shifted and twisted as I allowed for a long, draconic tail to form from my tailbone, parting over my shoulder blades as a pair of large, speed-specific wings unfolded (the wings in question mimicked the shape and form of a peregrines wings). My spine and arms tingled uncomfortably for a moment as spines grew out over my biceps and down over my vertebrae.
I stopped my transformation there, half expecting the suit to tear and rip, but when it didn't I found myself surprised again. Damn, Hiccup's one hell of an inventor.

Like the suit huh? Yeah, me too. It suits you.

Anyway, back to what I was gonna say.

I'm gonna guide you through what to do here so just listen carefully for my instructions ok? Ok.

I smiled quietly at Hiccup's voice before shaking my head and concentrating back on the burning mass of the factory.
