I got dropped off at the apartment with a taxi, I put on my shades as I exited the cab, paying him what the meter had read. I was bombarded by paparazzi, taking pictures, asking a bunch of questions. One caught my attention by a woman, her question making me tense up.

"Is this the end of you and Harry Styles?" she asked, her red lips eager for an answer.

I looked at her. "No, we are still strongly together." A bunch of questions were asked but I walked to the gate to have Lorenzo open it for me, making sure photographers don't get too rowdy. I got to my apartment and I immediately looked for the present that Harry had left me. I saw a huge bow on the coffee table and jumped over to reach for the box. It was a rectangular shaped, the wrapping was lilac, and there was a note attached to it.

I thought we should always stay in touch, so please read the instructions babe. Xx Harry.

I smiled, knowing he would leave me something. I unwrapped the box to find a brand new Mac Book Air. I stared at it for about ten minutes, not knowing what to do. I couldn't believe he would buy me such an expensive thing! I mean, a simple letter would do. I sighed, thinking back to laptops, I know Mac Books are very expensive. Didn't Harry have one and he said it was the best laptop he knew anyone could have? A ping of guilt hit me, I wish he were still here so I could hand this back to him. But he expects me to keep in touch with this.

I opened up the box to find a letter entitled instructions. I read them over carefully, making sure I did everything the letter had said. When I finished setting up Skype, I stared at the wall paper. It was a small dandelion. How could I change that? I logged onto Google, it's been too long since I used a computer, I hardly used them for school. I was more of a book person.

School, Mark had brought that up. I mean, he really sounded passionate about me going to school, considering he always knew I was good at it. I got excellent grades, never had tardies, never missed an assignment or project, hell I turned them in early as well. I always thought that maybe I could be a... I heard knocks on my door. I got up and opened it to find Lorenzo.

"She says she knows you. I brought her up." he said, moving aside to reveal that Shannon was there, grumpily looking at him. I nodded at him and let her in, I haven't had her around the apartment to give her a key. She put her purse down in the kitchen and took a seat.

"Want some cake? I have fudge cake left from my sleepover with Lou." I offered, walking over to my fridge. She nodded sighing.

"How are you going to be happy without your Harry? Like really Alaine, you looked so happy with him all the time. I cant bear to see you get sad."

I brought the cake out and cut out some slices and handed her a plate as I cut myself a piece as well. "I wont be sad, he's gone but he's still mine. Plus, he said he would work on getting me over there." I smiled.

"Wait! To London?!" she said, dropping her fork.

"Yes! Isn't that awesome?! I mean he sounded as if it might take a while but I think it'll be worth the wait." I smiled, getting some milk to wash down the cake. I sat down across from her, taking bits of my cake.

"You know, that's great. Jaime, our boss, has a shop over there. He could totally hook you up there if you're going to go."

I looked at her, a little taken a back. "He has a business over there?" not even Luna's was that expansive.

"Of course, almost every continent. In actuality, this business was his mothers until she passed away, she wished to have one in London, England and two months ago it happened! You should have been working with us back then." she frowned. I looked down at my cake, knowing two months ago I was in my dream job.

"So Shannon, how's school?"

She stopped drinking her milk and eyes me carefully. "Why the sudden question?"

I shrugged. Shoot, did I really give it away that easily? I looked down at my cake, hoping to avoid her stare. Should I just tell her already about how I've been thinking about going back to school? All because of a date with a guy?

"Well... I've been thinking for a little while now and... I think I want to go back to school Shannon." I looked at her. "I mean, I don't want to just sit here and wait for Harry. Then again, if I do start school, how am I going to be able to go with Harry?" I questioned myself. How did I not think about that thoroughly?

Shannon smiled. "Oh! At my collage there's this transfer program where they send you to one of their sister schools! I don't know if there's one in London but the program is basically to get you to travel to get better opportunities everywhere. Catch is, if you end up scoring good on the final exam they give at the end of the year, they let you finish at the foreign country. Possibly grant a longer visa if you get a job over there!"

I looked at her in disbelief. This could be my chance, right? I mean I'm really confident in what I study, I could do this. I could do great in my final exam and end up staying over there with Harry. It could all be possible! I could really get my happily ever after with Harry! He wouldn't have to make a big deal of getting me to go over in London, it would all be paid for. I could possibly ask Jaime for a position at the other shop in London. I felt the adrenaline rush hit me. I had to do this.

"Shannon! What are we waiting for?! Let's do this! I want to go back to school and this program could get me closer to Harry without a real long wait. It benefits him and I." I said getting up and putting our dishes in my sink. She gets her bag and we head out to her college.

Her campus is big, but when we arrived to the office we had to wait to get an interview with the dean of the program who would look at my past record that I had with me, making sure that I was eligible. When it was finally my turn, I sat in the room alone with him. There was air conditioning which made the office more chilly.

"Hello Miss. Your name?" he offered a hand and I shook it.

"Alaine Saunders." I said.

He smiled, his crinkles making his features look a little older than thirty. His green eyes reminded me of Harry's, but they weren't as brilliantly green. That could not even come close to comparing. I sat down and handed him my manilla folder filled with my transcripts I kept after not going to a university after high school.

"Well I see you came here with every intention of being part of our school. But I think it's a bit late for the summer session." he said, reading all my papers.

"Yes, I see that. But I also see that there's a program that will start again in the fall." I add.

"Yes, the Expand Your Opportunities Program. Have you brushed up on it?" he asked curiously.

"Yes, through a friend. I would like to apply to that program as soon as possible. I know it would mean another two months of waiting but I wouldn't mind."

"Well I see you are very prepared. What would you like to be?"

"I would like to become a baker." I said promptly.

He nodded, looking a bit pleased at my answer. "Any past experience with the kitchen, pastries, culinary arts?"

"I was employed in the new up rising restaurant Luna's since I was fifteen. I knew the original owner of the restaurant and we worked together in building it, I came up with most of the menu, passed on some recipes to the chef who could handle it professionally but with that I knew what I wanted to do. I loved to bake."

After we had gotten into a great conversation about the classes I would need to take, the program and how it had gotten started, and after a couple drinks of coffee he let me go. I thanked him for his time and left the campus to go on home, anticipating that call.
