I was still avoiding everyone, especially since Rose had come home. I spilled everything and we had a night to simply spend together. Niall ended up coming over and talking to me. He was a very happy boy seeing Rose, it was almost like watching a couple from an old movie. You could definitely see the love radiating from them as they laughed at small insiders they had. I was happy for her, she had found someone who loved her as much as she loved him.
"Are you feeling well Alaine?" Niall asked me while we did the dishes after ice cream. I nodded, not really sure what I was feeling. I was very distraught after my mother showed up yesterday but also very excited to finally be able to talk to Mark today. He needed to know how I felt and where our relationship was going. I asked him to come over today and his voice lightened up on the phone, I really hoped he didn't get all excited over a small meeting. It would be sad to see his eyes break like they did when I didn't want him near me the morning after.
"A little nervous." I admitted. Rose was getting attired for their date tonight. Niall was helping with the dishes while on his phone every once in a while.
"I'm more than positive he'll understand, if he's a gentleman. Which I assume not since he beat up Harry pretty bad." Niall said bitterly. When he had found out what Mark did to Harry, he wanted to come over and give him a taste of his own medicine. Luckily, Rose along with the other boys convinced him it'd be a waste of time.
"He is with me. It's still his heart I'm breaking, he really did want this relationship."
"But its not the relationship you want." he finished off. I nodded. "Does this mean that you will get back with Harry?"
I set the bowl down to dry and washed my hands. I'm not sure if I did want Harry back. After all the emotional pain he put me through, I wasn't sure I was ready to forgive him right away. It was very conflicting for me. I was only sure of one thing, I loved Harry. Maybe, with a lot of time apart from him, I could have the love heal the wounds he had given my heart. That was still in the hands of fate.
"I'm ready babe!" Rose said behind Niall. He looked her over and immediately I say his face brighten up and literally come to life. He took his arms and wrapped it around her waist and brought her close to him. His other hand was placed on her face, caressing her cheek and looking her dead-set in the eyes.
"You look so beautiful." he said, half whispering. She smiled cheekily and muttered a thank you.
"You guys are making me want to rip my eyeballs out, this is too cute." I said, they both laughed at the comment and Rose walked to me.
"Are you sure you're going to be okay alone? I could stay with you and talk with Mark."
"Then what would be the point of getting dressed up and excited? Go out and have fun! Don't worry about me, these are my problems. Enjoy the time." I smiled, meaning every word I said.
She smiled and said goodbye as they got their jackets ready. I shut the door and looked at the empty flat, I was alone again. The loneliness didn't get to me, what scared me the most is I was going to be alone with Mark again. I didn't want anything to happen between us, I just wanted to slowly maneuver to the part where I tell him this is not going to work out. And it is my fault. I rushed into him too fast, I knew in the back of my head I loved Harry but I ignored reason. I should have made a smarter choice but I didn't. Now all I could do is fix it.
