I couldn't get my eyes to look away from her, she was just standing there, trying to cover herself more, I noticed how she loosely had her robe on, cleavage showing but now she tried to not look so revealing. She looked older, much older than Harry and I. I felt the familiar sting in my eyes, my mouth couldn't form any words, it was like my voice had disappeared. I nodded, understanding perfectly what the situation was in front of me. I slowly started to back away, biting my lip, not wanting to cry in front of them, Caroline was looking at me sadly.
"So this is why you've been so busy. Or more like who've you been busy with."
He sighed, looking at me with remorseful eyes, I didn't once break from my façade of stone, its all I could do without breaking into pieces right now. Or worse, lunging at Harry with all the rage I had inside.
"You don't know what it's like, being away from you." he said, his face scrunching up.
"I know what it's like Harry! I was away from you! Doesn't mean I screwed around to remember you more clearer!" I lashed my arm at Caroline.
"I'm not someone he's just screwing, we're in love!" Caroline finally said, stepping a bit out. I looked at her, but instead of a comeback I could of said I just started laughing, I was laughing?
"We're not!" he looked at her. "What's so funny?!" Harry asked, looking back at me.
I looked up, making the tears subside back into my eyes instead of falling down, I smiled, knowing exactly where Caroline's emotions were coming from.
"Want to know what's so funny? I'll tell you. You have two girls here, both believing you love them. You think we're your fools?"
"No, I don't see you as that! You're not even giving me a chance to expl-"
"Explain what! Explain what exactly?! Because from my point of view I can see everything distinctly! I don't need an explanation when the picture is perfectly painted!"
"No its not!" he shouted back, inching closer.
"Don't come near me! Don't you dare!" I backed away, clenching my fist, holding back what could be an outburst.
"I just felt lonely!"
"What a pathetic excuse. Now you can be lonely forever. Because I hate you Harry. You're a scum, I don't ever want to see you in my life ever again!" I turned towards the door, finding an exit to be the only solution. He gripped my arm from behind me and I pulled it away and punched him in the jaw, Caroline gasped and ran to his aid on the floor. I ran, as fast as my legs could take me. I didn't want to stop, the air seemed to be going in and out of my lungs quickly, burning by the time I waited for the elevator. Did I really just punch him? I did warn him, but was I really capable of that?
"Alaine!" I heard behind me, I turned to see Harry trying to get up and come down the hall. By this time now I was letting the tears flow out of me, I searched for another exit. I saw the staircase door and headed for it, I tried going down the steps as fast as I could, skipping a step sometimes. I almost tripped when I heard Harry call out my name again, I started all over again but fast but I could hear Harry's bare feet slap the ground harder and closer.
He pulled me back and I saw the blood on his lip. I didn't much care as to the fact that he was still within reach of me. I pulled away and but he gripped me harder, I saw his anger and frustration but I'm sure he also saw mine. He gripped my hands so he can perfectly face me.
"Alaine stop running away from me!"
"No! I hate you Harry! I hate you! You're nothing but a liar, I hate you, don't touch me you filthy animal!" I kicked him in the stomach and he fell on the steps. Not my greatest comeback but I ran down the remaining stairs, holding onto what little control I had left and ran outside.
