I continued to follow the trio. I followed as they encountered monsters, spirits, and all kinds and some other strange stuff.

Thankfully, I had Blackjack and was able to stay out of their way. If Grover or Annabeth had seen me, the whole mission would have been compromised.

The last stop was by far the worst.

The Underworld.

I had learned the invisibility spell from Luke, who learned it from some other dude, so I managed to sneak in undetected.

I got onto the boat with them, and accidently bumped into Grover. I held my breath as he looked around before shrugging it off and relaxing. Well, relaxing as much as you could in the Underworld.

I still didn't get how I was supposed to stop them. Maybe I would get a signal from Luke?

We continued to ride along the River Styx, lost things floating around us, mixing in with the murky brown water. It was creepy.

When the boat finally stopped, I followed them off.

The walk was dreadful. Ghosts stared as we walked by. Skeleton guards turned their heads and watched us with their empty eye sockets.

I was glad I wasn't a child of Hades or anything. I think I'd go crazy knowing that the guy who lives here was my dad.

Technically he's my uncle, but that doesn't really matter.

I watched from a distance of about ten feet away as Luke's flying shoes suddenly sprouted wings.

Luke must have given them to Grover, because he was the one the shoes were carrying. He was facing the ground, his hands grabbing at the rocks and stones around him. His face was full of pure terror.

Luke and Annabeth ran after him. I noticed Luke was only running half speed. That must mean that this was part of the plan. Grover was supposed to be dragged down by the shoes.

Annabeth was too slow, she was still way behind Grover and he was getting close to the edge of the pit.

I recognized the pit from my dreams. It's where Kronos currently resided.

Tartarus.

I couldn't let Grover go down there. Even if we were on opposing sides, he had been my best friend.

I ran past Luke and Annabeth. Somehow, I had gained speed. I grabbed Grover's had, which caused him to scream even louder.

I planted my feet in the rocks, but the shoes kept him flying. He was now dragging me along.

"Hang on G-Man, hang on." I whispered. I hadn't meant for him to hear me, but I think he did.

His eyes widened, "Percy?" He whispered.

"They're gonna kill me for this." I muttered before tackling Grover.

Luke and Annabeth were watching from a few yards away as I grabbed Grover's legs and ripped off the shoes. They continued to fly until they reached the pit where they went down.

I had an urge to go to the edge and look down, but I resisted and helped Grover up.

Annabeth immediately ran to check on him. Grover was still shaking. I watched them hug before walking back to where Luke was. He looked furious.

"You're going to pay for that, Perseus." He growled. It didn't sound like his voice, it sounded deeper, older. I could've sworn his eyes flashed gold.

Then, he was back to normal. He just looked disappointed.

"I understand why you had to do it Perce, but resist next time, please?" He begged quietly before jogging toward Annabeth and Grover.

Luke was right. I had failed my mission, and I was going to pay.

I got Blackjack to take me back to our home base in New York. A couple new people had been recruited, two guys and a girl. A son of Apollo, James. A son of Aphrodite, Cameron. And a daughter of Hermes, Chloe.

James was 16, Cameron 13, and Chloe 14. This still left Luke as the oldest one in our group. He was 19.

I watched the others sitting around and joking with each other, which only made me feel worse. I sat at the far end of the table, waiting to be called by Kronos, or "the boss" as we like to call him. He was going to be mad.

It had been a day since I got back and I was starting to relax a little more. I joined in on a game of Uno and managed to eat a few chips when my vision went white.

A loud, powerful, and very angry voice began yelling at me.

"Perseus Jackson!" It thundered and I mentally flinched.

"You have betrayed my orders! You let the Satyr free. We will have a talk about this. Come see me. NOW!"

My vision went back to normal. It must've only been a few seconds because it was now my turn. I threw a  green seven on the table (the color was red and and the number was 2) and began jogging to meet our boss.

The "meeting place" was a small room in the far left corner of our building. I had only been there once before, to receive my quest.

I opened the door and felt a shiver go down my spine.

You've got this Percy. I mentally encouraged myself, just don't make him more mad than he already is!

Sadly, if there's one thing I'm good at, it's making immortals mad.

According to my thing, I haven't written in this book since November 2018, oops.

And I forgot to publish this when I first wrote it, oops
